Default Has Jay Thomas always used Foul Language ?

As a new subscriber and new listener to Jay Thomas I am just wondering if he has always cursed every 5 minutes of his show ?

First I don't see why its necessary for him and staff members to carry on in such manners. Also keep in mind if young children could be listening in during prime time hours.

Next are all talk hosts on Sirius Stars 103 using 4 letter words to attrack listeners ?

I don't appreciate his style of broadcasting...

Maybe Sirius should allow such language after midnight.

Change the channel. Simple as that. If young children are listening, it is YOUR responsibility as a parent to "shield" them from those parts of the English language you deem inappropriate.

No children here but why should he be allowed to conduct his show using bad language ? If Sirius wants the channel to be under supervision they should have a warning listing for this channel. Sirius needs to ask themselves who are we trying to reach we bad language manners

They reach the audience who listens. Plain as that. Yes, it would best if Sirius would "mark" the channels (and we've been asking for exactly that in other threads around here). If you don't like it, change the channel once you figure out it doesn't appeal to you. Heck, block the channel on your PNP if you feel strongly enough about it. Corporations are not "supervisors", nor should they be. It is YOUR responsibility to either pay for a product or not, to listen to the product or not. Of course, with Howard Stern coming, various uncensored channels like Faction, etc, I think Sirius has said pretty loud and clear who they are trying to reach. They are trying to reach the audience who makes the most technology purchases, males age 18-34. It's a pretty common demographic to target with technology companies. Having said that though, they also realize that it won't always be the case, bringing on board Martha and Richard Simmons, etc. They know that women are slowly starting to make satrad purchases as well.

I do wish that Sirius would mark the channel with XL so that people that tune in would not be suprised. I really don't understand the reason why they won't. :\

Jay doesn't swear a lot. He just does it sometimes because he can.

As stated, if you don't like it, change the channel.

People like you make me absolutely sick. You're obviously trying to come in here and get a rise out of people. You know damn well that this is satellite radio and some of the channels will be uncensored.

If you don't like the way he conducts his show...simply don't listen.

I suggest you stick with FM.

And allow me to say one more thing:

Fuck the children.

I don't pay to hear my satellite radio censored because you want your kids to listen.

I apologize. What I should of said is fuck the parents who use their children as an excuse for anything they consider wrong in the world and try to "childproof" everything.

Sirius Stars is not a station for kids at all, Listen to Mojo's show, "Lying Cocksuckers" now that is every 3rd word a fuck or a shit.. And I love it.. Because it would never be on FM.. I think Sirius needs to mark stations like they do on TV rating System so parents can do the best then can to make sure their kids are tuned in to this stuff. But for folks over 18 in the good ol' USA we should be able to pay our $12.95 and listen to all the fucks and shits we want. I think Sirius has stations for eveyone, and if you do not like the bad talk block the station out. Jay Thomas was one of the 1st shock jocks in the USA, back in the day.

I like Jay's show just fine the way it is. If you dont care for it, either don't listen, or use the channel lockout to block it, that's what it's there for.

One of the beauties of satellite radio is that it is, for the most part, uncensored. Many of the terrestrial stations curse as well but it's bleeped out. But I do agree with some of the suggestions mentioned above that they should put some kind of rating system in place so parents know if there could be inappropriate content/language on that channel. I'll send an email to Sirius now on that one... good idea!

I have a little one and when he's in the car KidStuff is usually on.

Maybe you should stop trying to dictate the tastes of other people.

Not content to screw up broadcast television by using Janet Jackson's tit as an excuse to water it down to the bland "Barney" level, you and yours have now set your sights on pasturizing SUBSCRIPTION-based service satellite radio. Sorry. I'm not here to subsidize your brats. Raise'em yourself.

And btw: considering that SIRIUS just spent a bazillion dollars acquiring Howard Stern, what do you figure the odds are that they'll impliment your censorship scheme?

I don't understand why everyone is jumping on sirius2006s back... can someone explain it to me without using curse words or being derogatory?

I don't think sirius2006 is looking to censor anything just give people an easy way to see what type of material is being broadcast. Would implementing a rating system be a bad idea? As a parent I would welcome this.

Later,
Bill
