I've heard savage a few times at night. He's crazy but I like the dude. That mexicans for oil idea is hilarious. I live in Colorado and pick him up locally and on a station wayyy over in Oklahoma.

Ahh, the miracle of TERR radio waves traveling hundreds of miles at night

With a good antenna, I've gotten AM stations as far as St. Louis at night! The lore is that the Rockie Mountains are the the cut off point at night for stations. Where East of the mountains all stations can be heard anywhere, and west of the mountains stations on that side can be heard.

A good example (where I heard the above) is AM 1030 WBZ from Boston. Usually (solar flares effect stations) that can be picked up just about anywhere east of the Rockies after sunset as it's a powerful 50,000 watt antenna.

I could explain the effect of solar flares and the sun on AM reception if you like. Solar flares are BAD.

I heard Neal talk about this a few months ago. He is dead set against going satellite. He believes it will hurt his advertisers if he did. Hopefully he will change his mind.

When I was younger, there was only a single FM Country station where I lived. I hated it. My alternative to that was an AM Oldies station out of Oklahoma (1520 KOMA?) that I could pick up at night. I'm in the western edge of the rockies and the station was a bit to the east of the rockies.

I can't get that station anymore after I moved 66 miles north.

You just have to be in the right place and be close enough for the signals to reach over, eh?

I hope so too. Athough, Don't the talk programs on Sirius actually have commercials on them?

LOL..you sound a lot like Savage now. All you can do is start out with name calling (just like Red-Diaper-Doper-Baby). You don't see Hannity and others doing that...only a few like Rush, Franken, and Savage to such a degree which makes you wonder about their listeners. They should have their won channel "Ain't It Aweful Nation" or "My-Life-Stinks-So-I-Wanna-Tell-You-How-To-Live-Yours Channel".

I'm more apt to believe that is the real reason why Savage is not on satrad too. I love listening to Boortz when I can...he even has a home near where I live. My guess is that Boortz decided to give out the straight facts (clearly people listening on satrad would deny local advertisers listeners) than make a big anti-gay pro-border-culture-language routine.

I wonder if there is a way to promote top talk radio talent without the threat to certain advertisers.

Savage is one of a kind to say the least. His show would be great to have on SIRIUS.

Who the hell needs savage? You can pick him up about anywhere in the country, on your local clear channel station. Why would he move to satellite?

There is NO reason or motivation for Savage to move to satellite right now. Won't be happening.

Are you describing the socialist democratic peoples worker party that came to power in Germany? Because they kind of invented the goose step.

Savage used to be on Sirius and left about March 05.
Not sure why he left, but wish he would return.
