Since the beginning, it has been Sirius's policy that only the music channels are commercial free.

Maxim is a talk channel, and has had commercials since its inception.

Kurri, you are correct Maxim used to not have commercials. But, Maxim is not a music channel, so it was to be expected IMHO (not that I listen to that channel anymore anyways). I don't like commercials on the talk channels, but it is good for revenue. And if my memory serves me correctly have never seen a post about someone un-subing because of them. I think that is reflected in Sirius' low churn rate of 1.X%.

I had such high hopes for Maxim but it's been a total letdown. It's basically the quality of the magazine which used to be really good. I guess I was expecting a decent male oriented channel but they've failed to put anything interesting on it. Sometime Evan and Brian do put on a good show but those are far and few between IMHO.

Ah well, we can only hope for better programming someday. Maybe replace it with GQ Radio or something.

Yeah, I also had high hopes for MAXIM, but have been very disappointed, as it basically sucks ass. Sometimes I'll switch over to it on the drive home during a Breuer Unleashed break, but end up switching to something else because it's so lame.

If Sirius has to dump some channels because of the Canadian deal, hopefully Maxim will be one of them.

A radio channel just can't match up with a hardcopy magazine that features lots of photos of hot babes.

Same thing with XM's defunct Playboy channel.

I am totally dissapointed in Maxim Radio as well. I had hopes for a much better channel then this. As far as the commercials on Maxim goes, since it isn't a music channel then yes it could have commercials on their.

I'd expect Esquire Radio rather than GQ if there's a mens magazine tie-in to replace Maxim.

I don't listen to the Maxim channel because it's fucking terrible. The commercials are much better than the content on there most of the time. They have a bunch of no talent ass clowns as DJ's and it seems as if all they do is talk to fill time. I hate this channel, anytime an actual interesting topic comes up they limit the callers to a few to cut it short for commercials and another gay topic. I am actually cancelling my magazine subscription because I hate this channel so much.

I used to really like and enjoy Maxim. I don't know where things went south, but they sure did do it quick! Every now and then they hit a base hit, but for the most part... they have lost their magic. The channel launched in january of 2005, and it dropped quickly!
