ok. if viacom or clearchannel came to you and offered you a contract that pays twice the money for twice the amount of time with promised national syndication would you take it?????

not to toot the sat rad. industries horn but a nationally syndicated radio show has the potential to have ALOT more listeners then sirius or xm could ever imagine for many many years to come.
Gee that's funny because I don't think Stern has EVER been on the radio in KCK.

I was listening around noon CST and they were on and live. That was on my PNP though, not sure if the stream was on.

Im sorry. I dont see the relavence of your post....

Wolfviper is that true that Stern really said that about the chick? If it is true I doubt she would do two shows a day back to back like that. (that would be what...6-8 hours of talking a day). I would think if she went back to fm she would be off sirius unless of course thats part of the syndication deal.

Financially I would have to think that infinity (assuming its wxrk that would be the flagship) would throw a decent amount of change at her to get some talent back. Anyone know the status of her deal with sirius?\

I did hear on Stern this morning, saying Radio Chick will probably be doing afternoons on FM. So I guess she leaving Sirius or not. But sometimes what Stern says is true or not and I can't find anything on his website or anywhere yet? I doubt she will do two shows, morning and afternoons. I bet she could move her show to afternoons so she won't compete against Stern morning show?

On Stern this morning, Stern was in the process of raking Tom Chiasano over the coals about how Infinity is treating him. During this conversation, Fa-Fa-Fo-Hi said that he had heard something about afternoon drive time, but he didn't want to say it on the air. Somehow he communicated this person's name to Howard who then said, "Oh, yeah. I knew that. The Radio Chick." He then said that the Radio Chick was going to do afternoon drive-time.

I would be very disappointed if The Radio Chick left Sirius, but if that's what happens, it happens. They have, on occasion, I think, spilled over some work-related frustrations into the show. I remember some veiled comments about the channel change to Sirius Stars. They've also complained about a few other things, but it's really hard to know what's real or otherwise.

It seems that TRC has had a very successful, lucrative career pre-Sirius, so now that there are all kinds of deals getting made, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that she's gone.

Now, if they lost her _and_ Jay Thomas, that would be heartbreaking.

did he specify on sirius or FM? If sirius I wonder if this is simply a case of him not wanting any talk show with a style of his to be on the same time he is.

My point was Kansas City has almost NO Shock Jocks that I've seen. We never had Stern on Talk Radio OR Opie and Anthony OR the Radio Chick. All we've had are Conservative Commentators so what you say is not entirely true about getting a bigger audience. She would lose anyone around the KC area if she went to FM, same with any other nationwide Shock Jocks on Satellite Radio.

sorry to hear that. My college roomate was from kansas city (in the other state) and he too said there was absolutely nothing out there.

No offense but I think when the powers that be plan out their syndication deals I dont think that KCK is on the priority list of major markets. Losing Kansas may in fact be a casualty of switching formats but when you look at the percantage of kansas citiens that have sirius vs. the number of people that live in the city of manhatten olone (12 mil. give or take) I dont think the KCK (population of 145,000 as of july 2004) audience would be missed (not picking on where your from, just using it as an example).

Im not taking a pro fm radio stance. just playing devils advocate. Fm radio has one thing that sat. rad. will not have for many many years to come. Sat. rad., although nationwide is still a very small percentage of the US population and if leslie gold can benefit from it then good for her. Its just business. nothing personal.

Wow, losing the Chick would be a big loss for me. It's by far my favorite show on Sirius. It's just well done smart humor that is disgusting and damned hilarious. A classic case of a show that I had never even heard of, but grew to love. I hope it doesn't go.

I heard that on stern the other day too-and in the afternoon someone called in to the radio chick show and asked them if it was true-but chuck kinda blew him off and said they didn't need to answer that.

If they're refusing to talk about it, they're getting ready to take the money and run.

Actually it's bigger if you count out whole area. I live in a suburb of a suburb of KCK. You count Prairie Village, Olathe, Overland Park, Lee's Summit, Raytown, etc. the #'s start to add up.
Oh and to the next chatter. Queen that's how I feel about this one NYC chatter on Sirius. I really get screwed out of hearing certain NYC talkers because of this disgusting demographic, COUGHAlexBennettCOUGH. Anyone in NYC, CHERISH your local NYC talk legends because most of ours are worthless.

I think she may be going off the air. I e-mailed the help desk; instead of getting the standard "Web Player Problems" reply, as I expected, I received the "We only have permission to transmit certain channels over the internet" reply.

Unless the person from Sirius erred, we may be losing Radio Chick.
