Post Does anyone else want Talk Right back on the air? I DO!

While I love the addition of Fox News and Fox News Talk, I really would like Talk Right back on Sirius. I miss many of the programs on there.

Anyone else feel this way?

Can't get any further right than Fox.

Default Talk Right

I'd say that both XM and Sirius have work to do on the talk selections. It is so complicated though--as many talkers have local stations they do not want to step on by offering their programs to satellite radio.

Has anyone heard of CRN Digital Talk? Is this available to a home listener?

Fox News is FAR from FAR RIGHT! yes they are leaning right, but still closer to center than say Ann Coulter!

Tammy Bruce & Laura Ingraham put on great shows. They really brought something to Talk Right that is missing currently from the Patriot channel. They could get away with certain things that Sean Hannity, Brian and the Judge, Mark Levin, Mike Reagan or G. Gordan ever could.

If you feel the same way, let the guys in Sirius know, maybe we can get them back, who knows it is worth a try...

Doing my part to piss off the heathen left!!!

I sure do; it carried the TRN (Talk Radio Network) shows. I really enjoyed Laura Ingraham in the morning and Rusty Humphries in the evening. When it disappeared I canceled two of my three Sirius receiver subscriptions, and now subscribe to the shows on the internet.

Rusty recently got picked up by an FM talk station here in Cincinnati and I decided to give him a listen. He was talking about Elton John's recent comments and making no sense. He's okay, but nothing really special. Better than Mark Levin though. Laura Ingraham comes across as shrill to me. She has an annoying voice and kind of whines a lot. Tammy Bruce is all right. You should really move to Cincinnati. We've got Laura, Tammy, and Rusty. Now if only Sirius would pick up Mike Malloy. I'm not joking, I like Mike Malloy. I'm a liberal but I still like to listen to conservative talk radio. I often argue with my radio and eventually get frustrated and switch to progressive talk or Howard, but I like to expand my horizons.

Hell no! We already far too many political channels as it is, IMHO. All I can say is THANK GOD SIRIUS had the common sense to remove Right when Air America left. Having two SIRIUS-produced political talk channels is more than enough ...and four was just fucking overkill! Is it not enough to have Fox News Talk, ABC News & Talk, and whatever else in addition to Patriot and Left? Let SIRIUS focus on getting programing we don't currently have.

Jeff -- I thought you were going with my idea of:

1) Removing Cosmic Chaos and having all talk discussion moved to this forum...making this simply SIRIUS Talk.

2) Creating a SIRIUS News & Political Talk forum to host all political-talk discussions that don't (but should!) go in the Political Asylum... and making this forum 100% political-talk free!!

Some of us just don't want to be subjected to politics period!

Default Talk

I agree that there is alot of political talk available between satellite and ota radio. What I miss from the old days is interview talk (ala, old Larry King Shows) and talk on subjects with guests. Maybe this is still done locally, but I don't listen to the local shows any more - too many commercials.

There are also a lot (at least a few) of us who care deeply about the programming on the politically oriented streams but have no interest in posting in the asylum.

I would be quite upset if all discussion of the programs and programming on the political streams were lumped in with the political battling that goes on in the asylum. Good discussions on the programming would get lost in the noise.

Yes, I wish Talk Right would come back and replace the AWFUL Fox News Talk. It won't happen though.

That's like me saying I don't want to be subjected to hip-hop and more than one station on Sirius playing it is too much.

The more the merrier whatever you listen to Sirius for! They could add a dozen more channels playing hip-hop for all I care as long as they don't remove stations I enjoy for it. I don't find it hard to skip over what I don't like... Would you be a Sirius subscriber for just one or 2 channels you like?

I got Sirius primarily for news/talk. I like having the news channels, but since Air America left I only have Talk Left for progressive talk and only enjoy a couple shows on it. I'd welcome at least one more channel servicing the genre... as long as they don't remove whatever it is you enjoy for it

One would think the title of the thread would have been enough to warn you that the topic was about political talk. It was labled and everything, you're not trying to censor what is being posted are you?

FYI -- The "not wanting to be subjected to politics" comment was referring to the posts in this forum...not the channels themselves. Hence, the reason I came up with the idea to have a separate forum for politically-based shows and news programming. Believe it or not, I do know how to change and/or completely avoid channels I don't care for.

And yes, I do think were two many political-based channels before. But then again, I think there are currently too many rock channels on SIRIUS ...and I'm a huge fan of rock music. I'd just prefer they balance out everything and not focus on one particular thing too much. So as you can see it has absolutely nothing to do with my discontent for politics or what I enjoy.

Everyone clear now?

I am for censorship......of all non original talk shows on Sirius whether right, left, or otherwise. I'm all for Stern, Bubba, Alex Bennett, Lynn Samuels, Jay Thomas and Andrew Wilcow but the syndicated AM talk shows suck. Who gives a shit what Stephanie Miller or G. Gordon Liddy have to say on their terrestrial shows? I don't hear any syndicated music shows and the same standard should be applied to talk. Exclusive content is what will bring more talk radio fans to Sirius.
