Default Judith "Blood Money" Regan

I can't believe that Sirius.com is promoting Judith Regan's publication of O.J. Simpson's "If I Did It" book.

Regan paid money to a "third party" for O.J. Simpson's book, instead of to Simpson himself. That way, the book proceeds aren't subject to seizure by his victims' families as part of the civil judgment (that O.J. refuses to pay).

This is not about censorship, it's about unethical business practices. O.J. Simpson and Judith Regan are profitting from murder. I am ashamed of Sirius for taking part in it.

If anything, Sirius should drop Judith Regan from Sirius Stars immediately. I'm not paying a subscription fee so that she can hype her "blood money" book.

I agree with you about the book, and profiting from it. Plus all the free publicity the media has been giving it all week.

But you're basically advocating censorship, whether you say so, or not. You're saying stop talking about it and don't broadcast it. That's censorship.

Sure, you can vote with your wallet and cancel Sirius. And I can see where you don't like to pay them to hear her sell her book. But just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should stop. There are plenty of other examples of things people don't like on various channels. So don't listen to them if you don't like them.

Again, I hate to see and hear about the whole OJ thing going on right now. I totally believe he killed his wife and her friend. And this may be his sordid way of confessing. He's a pretty good example of a slime bucket. But I just don't see why that's a reason to threaten to stop listening if she talks about it on Sirius Stars. Again, vote with your channel selector or on/off switch.

O.J.'s free to say whatever he wants. What he shouldn't be able to do is to profit from murder.

O.J. Simpson can tell his "story" to the media anytime he wants to, and they'll disseminate it without charging him a penny.

I have no problem with virtually anything that happens among consenting adults. But Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown didn't exactly "consent."

People have a right to free speech, not to blood money. Please don't attempt to link the indefensible with a right I strongly defend.

the whole problem, IMO, is that we have different levels of "proof' that are needed in criminal and civil court. It is ridiculous that one can be exonerated in criminal court and then be held liable in civil court.

It had to do with the different juries. The jury in his criminal trial were not going to convict him since majority of that jury were his peers that ignored the evidence and went to his celebration party afterwards while the one in the civil case did their job by listening to everything to come up with a valid decision against him.

Fortunately, ethics have prevailed. The O.J. Simpson book and TV special have been scrapped.

There's hope for this society yet!

All Murdoch did was save his butt from the backlash of advertisers. It was an economic move. Maybe a start for society, but since it's Rupert Murdoch we're talking about, I don't have too much hope.

It's about trying to skirt around the law and profit off of his story...

This just in...

HarperCollins has fired Judith Regan. Now, hopefully Sirius will follow suit.

Why? Because you don't like her nobody else should be allowed to listen to her?
