Default Does ANYONE have kids that listen to Kid's Stuff?

I've been a Sirius sub for just under 3 years and for the first time I put on Kids Stuff (Ch 116) which is supposed to be kids music.

Well.. The first song I hear is Beyond the Sea. Huh.... They play that on Standard Time ! I listened for quite a while.. I didn't hear much that would really be specific for Kids. Perhaps 2 - 3 songs in 1/2 hour. Perhaps I'm thinking it should all be Barney and Sesame Street type programing.. I didn't hear much of that at all.

I'm curious to know how popular this channel really is? Does anyone have kids that listen to this channel regularly?

We listened for a while, my daughter liked it at first, but then they seemed to play nothing but The Wiggles. There was some variety but it was definitely aimed towards the 5 and under crowd. They would throw in a few normal songs like the ones you mentioned. Now they want to listen to Radio Disney.

I have two kids under the age of five. I don't put it on that often (typically it's only when they're getting a little too rambunctious in the back seat). But when I do put it on, they definitely like it even the songs that aren't strictly kids songs. It's worth it.

my 4 year old likes it in small doses. Most of the time she would rather listen to new country #60. When we go on long trips she either watches movies or will want "kid stuff" for a few minutes.

My kids enjoy it alot, especially the 3 and 5 year olds. My 9 year old is starting to get too old for much of their programming, but if it keeps him from listening to the cr#$ on Hits 1 (or Radio Disney, for that matter)for a few more years...

My son prefers movies, so we watch Toy Story all the time!

LOL.. I know..... Kids can watch the same movie over and OVER

Thanks everyone for the replies.. I have kids, but they prefer Faction and Octane, so their opinion of the 'Kids channel' wouldn't be that objective

My 4 year old daughter loves it. I'm glad they don't just have the plinky-plonky twinky kids stuff on it, mixing in some regular music helps me from going nuts and helps her discover new music. They played Taj Mahal's "Little Brown Dog" the other day and we consequently spent a good half hour listening to the blues afterwards.

Oh, and Laurie Berkner is the Joni Mitchell of kids' music. She's awesome.

I actually like the music that Jack Johnson did for the Curious George soundtrack. I've heard that on Kids Stuff.

I've listened to it a few times. It isn't bad in small doses. However, I still think it is funny that this station is on 24 hours a day. Even with the time zone difference, I wonder if the station has any listeners at 3 am Eastern (Midnight Pacific time)?

I used to listen to the channel all the time even though I'm not a kid and I don't have any. It introduced me to Trout Fishing in America. I especially love the song "Chicken Joe".

My son loves kids stuff. He will barely let me listen to anything else for more than a few minutes. Wiggles and Trout Fishing are favorites.

Recently my daughter was up sick all night, throwing-up. She liked having it play as she lay awake in bed. Sure made me glad it runs 24/7!

The playlist has definitely improved lately. A lot less Wiggles and generic garbage. A lot more legitimate music from soundtracks (Beyond The Sea is used in Finding Nemo, so there's your connection) and actual talented musicians.
Now if someone could just tell me why they broadcast Kid's Corner at 10:00 pm...

My 2 year old loves the station. Whenever he is in the car, we have it on. He sings to it and he knows who sings the song without seeing the display.

Wait a minute... you mean if it's on a different channel, your son can tell the singer if he looks at the display? That's one smart two year old!!

LOL
