I have sent two emails regarding the 70s concern. In fact, Sirius politely pointed out they had already responded to my previous email on the subject. I remain confident Sirius WILL fix this problem. But I don't think anyone should take it for granted that they will. If you haven't sent an email expressing your views, DO IT NOW! Or better yet, is there a phone number we can call?

I hate to say this, but I have sent 4 emails in 5 days about this and not recieved even 1 canned/sutomated answer!! In fact any emails I have sent have not been answered in any manner. I had a friend email about a suggestion and they answered him- in the canned/automated method- but not me!! I think I am blacklisted!!! I know Joybandit got answers, but I am having no such luck.

No answers here, either. Apparently, Sirius has decided it can ignore its most loyal and oldest customers. BIG MISTAKE, IMHO!

Just because you get no answers, doesn't mean they didn't get them and forward them to the right people. Perhaps the Program Manager said to the email filter person something like "Quit forwarding me all of those 70's emails, I got the message!"

Someone has to be optimistic here

FYI: Totally 70s is being tweaked. And there's no boogie man in the SIRIUS storage closet eating all the songs.

Don't expect them to leave it undone. Give them time to cycle through and make improvements. Good stuff is on the way.

Look how good 60s Vibrations and Alt Nation turned out.

You might be right Jeff....I heard 4 songs tonight that were on my list of songs that they never played. Do Ya Think Im Sexy-Rod Stewart, Devil Woman- Cliff Richard, Brother Louie- Stories and Loves Theme- Love Unlimited Orchestra. When I hear the Carpenters, Barry Manilow or the Bay City Rollers I will know something is happening for sure!!

It's kind of like when you have the carpet cleaned at your house. They move everything out on the front lawn and then slowly bring it back in.

I think we'll have something great once the dust settles. Just my $0.02.

For those of you that posted the "Top 40" lists, the XM station is for you. I personally don't like that station and think that Totally 70's is better but I am apparently in the minority here. I would prefer they keep it the way it is.

I also like the way the 70's is programmed (I can listen for long periods of time), but I think they need to sprinkle in some of the other pop hits mentioned. I don't want to hear Muskrat Love, or Seasons in The Sun every day but once in awhile is ok. So I think they can strike a balance where the cheezy songs or one hit wonders get played but don't dominate the stream.

Cheesy? Cheesy?

Come to think of it, I don't think I have EVER heard MacArthur Park on Sirius. Even Donna Summer did it once!

I am sure it probably plays, but I switch streams so often, and I have never heard it on Sirius!

Now that song is the veritable definition of cheesy.

And how about Summer, The First Time!

I would like to say that I have nothing against any of the songs or type of songs currently being played on Totally(Partial) 70s, they belong there. But, when you are a stream representing a total decade and are put in the POP category of Sirius streams, it would be a good idea to put in the "pop" sounds. Dont falsely represent oneself as a "total" 70s sound when it isnt. It once was, so we know it can and has been done. Lets hope the fine tunning is under way and those in charge will react to subscribers as they claim they do. If Sirius is "listener driven", lets get the dog out of the ditch and back on the road.

I agree with AZJoe.Now,if they could also do this with '60's VIBRATIONS,I would be happy as.....................because right now,I'm seriously considering getting XM to see how good their '60's station is.
Tks,
FAT

I did notice also that Total 70s is listed under the "pop" category of streams too. I think that is what most of the complaints are about, the lack of "pop" songs. If Sirius wants a new classic hit rock stream they should start one, and bring back the full 70s decade stream, that might appease the customers.

I've heard MacArthur park at least once, and this wouldn't fit my description of cheesy. I could hear that song once in awhile and never switch the channel. Spiders and Snakes would qualify.
