I have noticed more 70s music. The last several songs played haven't included much rock.

Default Changed but still not good

I am noticing a little less Classic ock, but now it is being replaced with too much mellow crap. That belongs on Starlite or Movin Easy. I wish they would just put the 70s channel back to where it was this summer. I would kill to hear Sammy John-Chevy Van, Coven-One Tin Soldier, Al Greene, KC and the Sunshine Band, Leo Sayer, Heatwave, Andrea True Connection, Barry White, Blue Swede, Bo Donaldson- Billy Don't Be A Hero, Kung Fu Fighting, Dave Loggins- Please come to Boston, Earth Wind and Fire- ANYTHING!, Floaters- Float On, 5 Stairsteps- ohh Child, Gary Wright- Dream Weaver, Hollies, Isley Brothers, LTD Back In Love Again Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Ozark Mountain Daredevils-Jackie Blue, Reunion Life is a Rock, Spinners, all of the stuff I grew up with in the 70s, not just the over burned out crispy stuff that is still played all the time on LITE FM. BRING BACK THE 70s POP!!!!!

Are you sure? Maybe they just have a room with a big lever that, if pulled, will bring back the 90s and Dead Air Dave.

Default still not right

You are right. I have heard some of those songs but they are all the songs that are way overplayed. Even since they changed the focus of the 70s channel they HAVE played some pop, but it is all the stuff you hear at weddings or on 70s KTel records stuff. Nothing deeper. I hear YMCA, Grease, and Saturday Night Fever soundtrack stuff but nothing deeper. I think you guys are imagining it if you think it has changed yet. You are just pointing out a few titles that they are playing that are pop. Also, the channel is so clumpy. You will hear three dance songs in an hour and think they have fixed it and then you wont hear another one for the next 4 hours. This is a really poorly programmed station. I am not sure who programs it but they must have switched in October. I say, fire the current guy and bring back the old guy! That is the only solution. The 70s still sucks. Who is programming thsi now anyway?

Just as long as the 70's stream does no play wall to wall disco then I will be happy. I only heard that style back in the middle of september.

I too have heard the songs you guys have been mentioning. It is nice and I hope Sirius continues to upgrade their 70s stream. I would like to hear songs that charted in the top 20 not just #1 hits or in the top 10. I believe earlier in the thread there were a ton of songs mentioned.

Billy Ocean-Love Really hurts Without you
Gwen McCrae- Rockin Chair

Where else can you find these great 70s songs now? THAT isa why I got Sirius in the first place. I can hear Eagles and Billy Joel any day on my FM dial.

Thats the message that Sirius needs to hear, that this isnt FM, there was a reason why we came to satellite radio...to break free from BORING programming, limited playlists and the same old stuff!! Let them know- email any stream you feel isnt performing up to your expectations. While it is fine to bemoan the faults on here, it is better to email or even call Sirius, that is what will cause improvements and change. For them to listen, you have to shout sometimes- but it can work.

As a former XM subscriber, and potential Sirius subscriber, I've been listening to the webstream of Totally 70s. Although my main interest in Sirius is in the many NPR broadcasts and the new(?) world-talk channel, there's no way I'm going to buy in to Sirius unless I really like the 70s channel.

It should be obvious to everyone that there is something very wrong with Totally 70s. I've listened for over four hours of progamming, and there is no question that Totally 70s is merely a Classic Rock/Lite Rock station, with the only theme being rock songs of the 70s. I really wonder how Sirius gets off saying, "Rock, Pop and Disco," when all they play is rock!

Something funny happened tonight (Sunday, Dec. 14th), though, which prompted this message to the forum. After 40 minutes of pure rock (Styx, etc.) I heard almost 30 minutes of the kind of music many on this forum have been pining for. Have I blundered into the exact moment that Totally 70s is undergoing a format change? I sure hope so.

My local Best Buy is offering a free home kit, car kit, and FM modulator with the simultaneous purchase of a Kenwood receiver. That's awfully tempting...
