Dammit server went down when I posted!

OK, my thoughts:

1. Shuffle is damm cool it is Jack with more to play with than FM. I heard some Kool & the Gang nugget and "On the Road Again" by Willie on Shuffle already - and "Ant Music!" Remember, Jack's formula is bascially "was it on Billboard pop at any time in last 3 decades" And of course, automatically.. anything on Sirius > anything on terrestial

Now on Shuffle - "Hit the Road Jack, and dontcha come back no mo no mo WHAT CHU SAY!!"

CW McCall - CONVOY! Wow!

2. To rep Jam On, they had "Touch of Grey" Now, it's too bad there's really no chance you will ever hear Widespread Panic or Umprhrey's McGee jam for 15 minutes on Shuffle. I guess you need a time limit of under 5:00 to really keep it shuffling.

UPDATE: Gregory Abbott repping Planet Jazz? Umm OK You Miles Davis fans may want to stay where you are on the dial

3. Yea there is too much classic rock, but that's not really Shuffle's fault. I do think they should fold C-Rewind into C-Vinyl, and I'm someone who put BuzzSaw as preset A-1! Keep in mind - what demographic is most likely to get a Sirius sub? Boomers and 80s kids - and what do a lot of them like? Classic rock. Easy math.

4. Whoever said the decade channels were Shuffles before Shuffle was is right. I never liked disco as much as I did when I found 70s at 7.

5. I kind of sympathize with those who lament they only have "4 stations to keep them into Sirius" But hell, I know people who have it ONLY for NFL, and I guess there people who have it ONLY for Howard or something else. Of course, I see that some of you have have both sat-rad subs - one for each ear?
Welcome to my neighborhood

Super Shuffle was the first new station I tuned into in my car this morning. Enjoyable experience. I am a big fan of a lot of different music, but most of the time I stick with the hits, so this should work out for me quite a bit of the time. It is in my preset list already.
my top 10 presets: 1. 1-Sirius Hits 1 2. 8-Big 80's 3. 9-The Pulse 4. 12-Sirius Super Shuffle 1 5. 15-Classic Rewind 6. 18-The Spectrum 7. 20-Octane 8. 22-First Wave 9. 50-Hot Jamz 10. 61-Prime Country Favorite Sirius DJ - Madison

No thanks

The thing I like about satellite radio is the ability to listen to what I like, not what someone else thinks is a "hit".

Thumbs up, I like most of the song selctions so far, I am one who likes a wide variety of formats and styles...I can listen thru easily enough a few songs I dont know or just love, its called expanding my horizons. If you don't care for this mix of genres, change the channel.

Okay we are going to have to stop agreeing like this. Clearly this channel isn't going to be for everyone, but I certainly do like it. This thing is less than 24 hours old, I think it will be tweaked like most other channels that come on new. I can't seem to pull myself away from it. I read some one say there is no wow. Well there has been some WOW for me. I think much of this is about what folks were expecting and what it is actually going to end up being. You can't please everyone. Looking at the poll however it is clear that MOST either has set it as a preset, like it and will listen again, there aren't that many that say it isn't for them or that it should be removed. The poll speaks for itself.

From what I've heard of this station so far, it is absolutely horrible. This is nothing more than a mix of songs from the 70s channel and 80s channel. I realize the tags may say First Wave or Soul Town or Classic Rewind, but the songs from those channels are all mainstream hits that fit right in with the decades channels. I was hoping this channel would be a true mix of everything in Sirius' playlists. I have listened for about two hours so far and have heard nothing at all more current than 1992 on this channel. Did Sirius forget about mixing in Sirius Hits 1? Did they forget about the Pulse? I've heard nothing post-1992 that would be from Starlite. Nothing at all that would play on Sirius Gold. From the rock end of things, why have they played nothing from Alt Nation or Octane? I've heard nothing at all from anything in the Dance category. How come they've played no post 1980 R&B or anything from the R&B category other than from Soul Town? They've played nothing at all from New Country or Prime Country. I guess country music ended in 1982 also. What would be wrong with mixing in some Christian AC songs from Spirit or the new Christian rock channel? They've played nothing at all from the jazz category. I understand not playing classical, for that is a whole other style of music, but I can't stress enough how disappointed I am with this channel. In the two hours I've listened the newest songs I've heard were "I Can't Dance" by Genesis and "Unbelieveable" by EMF. This channel truly had the potential to be something special, but Sirius ruined it and gave us another channel playing CCR and John Mellencamp and Whitesnake. Thanks a lot, Sirius.

I just heard a country tune, I'm not a country fan, so this will not be a channel I will turn to. I think most listeners will love the variety, less channel surfing.

I agree with Phil. I had high hopes for this channel, but the variety is too narrow. It's about 80 percent mainstream pop/rock from 1975 through 1990, with a token standard, soul, and country song thrown in (and nothing within the last 15 years). I would have prefered a pure shuffle, that actually played songs currently airing on other stations. Then when a song ended, you would hear a shuffle sound effect until another song started on a different channel. If an average song lasts 4 minutes, that means a new one is starting, on average, every 4 seconds or so on some other station. You'd probably have to not include classical (although I'd keep Classical Pops, since they're usually short) or some of the hardcore rap (with lots of profanity). As an example of what this might sound like (picking songs playing right now on random channels):

1. Joe Sample - Fever (from Jazz Cafe)
2. Tavares - Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel (from The Strobe)
3. Puddle of Mud - Control (from Octane)
4. Bo Diddley - Mona (from Blues)
5. Willie Nelson - Georgia on My Mind (from Roadhouse)
6. Johann Strauss - Accelerations (from Sirrius Pops)
7. Bachman-Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet (from Totally 70s)
8. Dave Matthews - Trouble (from Jam On)
9. Trisha Yearwood - Walkaway Joe (from Prime Country)
10. John Legend - So High (from Heart and Soul)

Maybe I'm the only one who would enjoy that much variety.

I was very skeptical of this channel when I heard it was going to be added. I've not been able to listen to it for long, but I have been pleasantly surprised. While the variety of music doesn't span the entire spectrum, there is a large variety that I find to be a very refreshing listening experience. I also enjoy the added text indicating the channel that you could find the song/artist playing on.

I like it so far!! I only listened for a little bit this morning and I have it on now.. I pretty much like all the pop stations and most of the rock. I love Hair Nation and Buzzsaw and all the classic rock ones. I also like The Disco and dance music. I am not a big country but some is ok. So If a country song or one I didn't like came on here I have plenty of channels to choose from and I would just change it and come back later. I didn't play it in my car.. But so far now they've olayed 3 songs in a row that I know and like... It will probably get a preset. I don't have one left so something will go hee hee. I just use my remote to go from Sirius 1-4 then from preset 1-6 on each one it's so much easier to use the remote.

Default Shuffle..A-OK

The Shuffle is exactly what I had hoped updated version of a 60's&70's Top 40 station that plays everything that hit#40 or above on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It's radio the way it used to be before the corporate shirts ruined it.....Right on Sirius!!!

Sirius Shuffle- Its best Sirius Music on one super station. You never know what's coming next..

What a crock of .....

Who saids Classic Rock is the "BEST" on Sirius. Listening to the station you would think best music equals dinosaur rock.

I thought the point was to showcase the best music on all 65 music channels? That leaves out alot of genres. And its all OLD, played out songs you already hear on the other channels. I think we all know whats coming next when you listen to this channel..

And to think this could've been used for something useful like a 90's channel.

I listened to this channel the most today. I liked the fact that it is somewhat unpredictable, and since I have wide music tastes so it works for me. I was happy to hear some favorites spanning several genres being mixed together on the smae channel with the popular songs being the focus.

Constructive Criticism
I agree with those that think there should be more new music on this channel. In addition to the classic rock and pre-1992 music selections, they should include newer music you would hear on The Pulse, The SPectrum, Octane and Alt Nation. Even though I like classic rock, this channel could stand to be diluted by additional country, alt rock and modern country. Hopefully Sirius will tweak it and come up with a more balanced mix. I'm glad that they don't include the Rap since that would destroy it for me.

This format has promise, and I'm sure it will be tweaked over time. It is one of my presets now.
