  • Hits-Based

I've NEVER heard an FM station play Guns N Roses and Frank Sinatra within 10 minutes of each other.

I have yet to hear a repeat on Shuffle (I've listened for about 4 hours on two different days, 8 hours total).

Shuffle just played some Isaac Hayes song (Don't Let Go) that I've never heard before.

I agree, keeping it fresh with a large playlist with most genres and this will be a winner hands down! I am like Manco or whoever said it, I don't want them to include Rap. They seem to have added more pop today, but they will continue to tweak it.

Chad,

I don't think you ever gave the channel much of a chance to be quite honest.

They just played LL Cool J "Around The Way Girl" which is probably considered to be Rap. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but I don't mind an occasional song being mixed in.

Well I've been hearing promos for this channel being played on Raw Dog and Laugh Break and it mentions some of the genres you'll hear on shuffle and hip hop is one of them.

I did hear some hip hop this morning but hopefully it is a light dose or it could ruin the channel for me personally.

I just heard Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe followed by Daft Punk - Around the World followed by the Temptations. Weird... I like it

Not to pick on any of you indvidually, but I think that those who have deemed Shuffle as "another classic rock station" or "they play stuff I don't like" have some axe to grind. They seem to want a station that plays exactly what they want to hear, whether it be artist or genre, and if they can't find it, well, p*ss on Sirius.

I think Shuffle is the first station you should show your non-sub friends to say "this is the tip of iceberg of what you can hear on it. The "as heard of station name at 00 will probably lead someone who is learning about Sirius to say "oh, wow, there's an entire station devoted to hair metal AND the blues AND outlaw county" It's great marketing and a fun on it's own terms.

Moral of this story: This is America and we agree to disagree all the time - see the 2000 and 2004 elections if you don't beleive me.

RichieW13, really?!? You haven't found some of these new FM stations with names like "Bob", "Jack", or "Max"? They do this sort of mix all the time!

Well, to be honest, I have listened to very little FM radio over the past 5 or 6 years. I got bored of it all, and have mostly been a talk junkie.

In Los Angeles, they started a "Jack" station (what does that mean, anyway) on 93.1 about 6 months ago. I've listened once or twice, but never heard anything "extreme" as Sinatra.

The selections are much improved today. Yesterday was a poor launch (way too much classic rock), but the depth is getting better.

I think they use names like "Jack" to give the station some personality, but Jack must be a total schizoid multiple personality with musical tastes all over the map. I've heard promos here that say things like "We beat 'Bob' up and stole his CD collection; here's a sample..."

Anyway, I think the name "Super Shuffle" sounds too close to "Super Seventies", which might be a bit confusing. Another forum poster mentions "Sirius Shuffle" might be a better name.

(edit: I stand corrected, Sirius 7 is called "Totally Seventies", duh.. I get it mixed up with these "Super '70s" CDs I have.)

They have really changed the mix over the last 24 hours. I went from hearing nothing to the 90s to plenty of things from then and a song from this decade. Sounding much better Sirius!

I to would have to agree the mix is much much better today then it was yesterday. It was kinda of dull yesterday but not now. The More I listen the better the station seems to be getting. it's 1:30 am EST. and right now they are playing Outkast's Hey Ya great station sirius keep it up.
