Default 90's Only Station

I really wish that sirius would have a station dedicated to the 90's only. I know that they got the Pulse, but thats a blend of 90's and 00's. I dunno I guess I sometimes get tired of hearing the newer music and want to hear just the 90's.

Did sirius ever have a 90's only station?

There are a lot of people who have said the same thing. People ask if XM can have an all '90s channel, why can't Sirius?

I really don't care. I kind of like it the way it is. As a long time XM listener, I never listened to '90s on 9. I do like to listen to Flight 26 and Hitlist 30. Both play '90s and newer songs, with Hitlist mostly playing new music and some older stuff...

I agree with semipenguin on that one, I like the Pulse the way it is. I know "purists" will argue about the need for an all '90s channel, but I feel it plays a lot of '90's stuff with a nice mix of "good" new music, not like some of the stuff I feel gets played on Sirius Hits 1. If I had to pick a station for exposure to new music that I would like, it'd be the Pulse.

Of course Starlight is fast becoming my new favorite station, with their expanded playlist now. They play a good amount of '90's stuff as well. I can't wait until it comes back from "Christmas mode".

But no, I don't believe Sirius has ever had a '90's only channel.

Yep, the first year that Sirius came out they had a 90s only channel, I-90. Why they dropped it (along with a few others) I do not know.

Now I know. Thanks guys, I guess you learn something new every day. I know we've had Sirius in my GF's car since about April of '03, and I thought the Pulse had been on there since then. But maybe it was removed before then.

At work we listen to Lucy on XM(90's alternative rock) and I wish it was on Sirius. They play alot of songs I have not heard since high school and college and wish Sirius had a station like it. Unfortunately we have to listen to three different stations to here similar material.

Yea... I am also a fan of the 90's Alternative. I really wish they would keep Alt Nation and ThePulse. Then just add 90's Pop and a 90's Alternative Only Stations.

I've been digging Octane for the past week. Real good stuff.

I can't understand why Sirius wouldn't have, at the very least, a 90s alternative/grunge channel, especially considering that the 90s revitalized and brought back rock n roll from its near death. With the amount of old radio folks that Sirius employs you'd think that somebody would speak up loudly enough on the behalf of everybody who liked to rock out in the 90s.

I'm not much of a pop fan, but I do have to admit I enjoyed the 1990's stuff more than anything from around 2000 or beyond. An all 90's pop channel would be great!

But also, I loved alternative in the 90's. And just like the recent pop stuff, I really can't get into alternative in its current state. A couple years ago, for some reason, everybody seemed to stop making music I like listening to. So absolutely, give me some sort of a grunge/90's alternative channel!

We need a all 90's station.

Why do we need a station plays the "90's and now" when we have Sirius Hits 1.

One teenie bopper station is enough thank you and I don't want that mashed in with the cool alt and grunge of 90's.

A channel that had a play list mixed between Hair Nation, Octane, and Alt Nation would be great. Throw a little of the Pulse into the mix for good measure and all 90s rock/pop fans should be reasonably happy.

Default stations

What I wish Sirius would do is add a 90's station (like they had a while back) and then have another station for just Hot/modern AC like "Flight 26" on XM. If there's one thing that annoys the hell out of me, is that when The Pulse goes from Dave Matthews/Sheryl Crow to some night at the roxbury 90's dance music or Lauren Hill song. I have no problem with the 90's hip hop/pop, but I think mixing these two together isn't a good idea and should have their own stations. I really like Flight 26 on XM and wish that Sirius could have a station that ONLY plays that type of music and not the 90's pop/dance/rap and R&b stuff mixed in. If I recall, I think Sirius use to have a station called "The Trend" when they first started out that was hot ac music. Sometimes I think it's because Howard likes The Pulse so much is the reason why they want to leave this channel as is and not change anything. They need to either add a 90's channel and make The Pulse hot/modern ac like Flight 26 or make The Pulse all 90's and then create a new channel for hot/modern ac music. Anyone else agree?
