Default The Bridge

I must say, The Bridge is sounding better than ever.
Fewer repeats and good variety. Prior to the hijackings (Springsteen/Who), it was sounding stale, but not anymore.
Someone mentioned Jay Clark has moved on. Could this be connected with new program managers and more creativity (musically speaking that is).

I doubt if anyone here would have any inside knowledge to be able to answer that question, but we can certainly HOPE SO!

Smile Eva Cassidy

Question, and that is I have been to several channels looking for "Eva Cassidy's" music.

I really love her music, she was one of a kind taken much, much too soon! She had so much to offer to the world of music!!!

I thought that she might be on the "Bridge" but I have not heard her on any channel.

If anyone knows, I would really appreciate you letting me know.

Thank You

deedee

I guess they don't play Eva's music, or maybe there is another reason there was "no reply".

That's cool

Smile Thank You!

Thank you I never heard of either of thoes stations. I just became a great fan of the "Bridge" and I thought her music would be played on there. I don't know anything about her lifestyle, I just think she had an amazing voice.

They had a special about her shortly after she passed away, and her voice was one of a kind. My Son's band plays one or two of her covers, sooo very good.

Once again Thank You...........

One of my ex girlfriends loved Eva Cassidy, she told me all about her. In between Slayer, she would pop one in. I would have been surprised to see her excluded from all the channels that Sirius has. She would fit into several.

On the bridge.. I was confusing it with Horizons I think. Not a big fan of the Bridge. Tried it about 7 times and can't stay on the channel for more than about 3 songs. I would rather listen to Spa 73 or Chill or Jazz Cafe when I am chillin'. But hey, that's me!

Obviously a lot of Bridge fans here. I miss the international flair of Horizons. It was one of my favorites. I am a huge fan of middle east pop.

Smile "hay That's Just Me"

It's funny I came to Sirius because they took off the air my "Oldies Station" along with the Doo-Wop on the local station in NYC, so I went with Sirius for the oldies station, but once Bob Thomas was gone so was the Doo-Wop.

I just heard so much about the "Bridge" that when it went back on I really liked it, but hay that's just me, (ha,ha). I'm going to have to check out the ones you mentioned.

You also wrote about international music one of my favorite sounds is that of India, which I think is really beautiful, and very "Mystical".

My son sometimes plays the "Tabla's" in his band (the band's music is a little electronica, rock & folk put in ethereal vocals) and you have an acid jazz group. He's the drummer in the band, and sometimes he plays the "Tabla's".

(I'm sure my spelling is all off on the music info)

Smile Thank god The Bridge is back!!

I couldn't agree more about these one artist channels! I think a channel which plays concerts and such would be great....if NOT just one artist. I would love to be able to tune in and here live shows by all kinds of Rock/pop artists, I think that would be cool...but all one band, I couldn't take that for half a freakin day!
I can listen to the bridge for days at time sometimes and couldn't believe when they took it down. I'm thinking they don't have any way of knowing how many people listen or how many hours they listen...not sure the traditional survey methods work all that well, especially with on 6 million users, unlike national tv and such.
DON"T MESS WITH MY FREAKIN BRIDGE AGAIN! LOL

In contrast, I'm a bit disappointed with The Bridge - I have found it does repeat a lot of the same songs from the same artists (too much Jackson Browne...). They tend to be "deep tracks" that were popular but didn't get a lot of airplay. I was impressed at first but after listening to a good chunk of a ten hour radio replay on my Stilletto I've heard numerous songs repeat.

The only thing I find annoying is the little between song blurb that says something like........"the Who has moved to channel 98, the bridge is the new home for mellow rock"........ummmmm it was the home for mellow rock before you f'd up and made it the who channel in the first place........lesson learned.

I love Eva Cassidy, I have emailed many requests to Sirius and have gotten nothing. She had a incedible voice and she made songs you knew her own.

There are some songs that only the original performer should do, but in Eva's case (my option) she sings "Fields of Gold" like no one ealse. You just kind of hang onto every word of it when she sings it.

I would love to know why they don't play any of her songs, I called channel 10 to request it, but I'm sure that station is pre-programed.....
