I hear and agree FifthElement. What is sad is they claim to play from the nineties. But I would say very little comes from that catagory.
I can't say I have anything slightly tolerable on FM in Tulsa, so I'll never go back to it, but I hope they do listen, tune, and tweak. Perhaps, if we continue to give feedback, they will get better with time. Keep e-mailing!

As a subscriber and huge fan of SIRIUS I am finding the repititon to be terrible.

First it was #15 The Rock
Then it was #18 the Trend
Next I went to # 23 Big Rock

I have even found where they apprear to play the same loop of songs at same times. I am getting really sick of it to say the least.

If I hear the same new songs by Zebra or Queensryche once again today Im going to puke.

Actually, lately I've been going back to CDs. After having Sirius for so long, I really appreciate the higher sound qualities from CDs that i've been lacking. CDs have such a louder and more full sound than does Sirius and XM.

But this isn't set in stone. I'm paying for Sirius, so you'd better believe I listen to it. But when a song I've heard a thousand times before on Octane comes on, I will visit my FM dial to see what's on THE X.

I do get your point though. But to be honest with you...Octane probably plays as many repetitive songs per hour as FM does commercials. Know what I mean?

i can see where you are coming from
but the beatles, stones, floyd , led zep need to go.
played out long ago
also i agree with the horrible amount of repeats on the streams
i called for a request on xm and was told that the song i wanted was played a couple of days ago so it won't be played, i like sirius better then xm but the repats suck

I can't help it.

Repeats on Sirius don't bother me very much. When they do, which is seldom, I change streams.

Posts about repeats on here are getting very repetitious!

But I repeat myself.

If they played all the Beatles and all the Stones it wouldn't be bad. They just play the same few songs over and over.

XM was the same way. As they got more subs, they got more angry input and they eventually were forced to change.

Sirius is just further behind on the evolutionary curve.

I suspect Salkowitz, like Abrams before him, is about to discover how little he knows about music.

You can't expect people to listen at home if your repetition factor is tailored for 20 minute commutes. Commercial radio is a terrible place to learn broadcasting.

I totally agree with you here. It is just not repeats during the same 24 hour period, it is the same song day in and day out. I have really grown to dislike Lucinda Williams on ORganic because they play her every single day multiple times. The only way we can change their behavior is to email them with our evidence and our complaint and how to fix.

Let the constructive email campaign begin !

It's not just the rock stations...

US-1 and The Pulse are getting pretty bogged down.

Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent, Matchbox 20 - Unwell, Jewel - Intuition and Uncle Kracker - Drift Away...must...be...cut...back.

The rotations are sickening, even for a hit music stream.

Its got so bad I have noticed on Big Rock #23 they play not only the same songs but same group of songs at diffrent times of the day.

I have been listening to Big Rock an average of 5 hours a day for the last week and started to notice this.

Its driving me crazy.....

And while typing this yet again I have heard that Damn new Zebra song Arabian Nights 3 times today.

When I was in eclectic album rock 20 years ago we used records. We'd have to come in hours ahead of time and pull albums from the library. A 3 hour show would be a stack of albums a foot thick maybe.

One thing you never did was use somebody else's stack of records or hide your stack in the back and use the same one 2 shifts in a row. You put your records back after your show.

(Some of the best advice I got when starting in Alternative Album Rock was to not play anything I was familiar and to pick the artists I had never heard of.)

To reuse a music list in a new timeline should be grounds for dismissal. These people are getting paid good money for doing something most any 18 year old can be trained to do in a couple hours.

Rickets, while I disagree with you at times, I gotta say that I'd like it if you went up to NYC and taught these fuckers how to program a fucking radio station.

I'm so sick of the repitition.

Language like that SO helps you make a convincing case.

Those of us with small children are just ecstatic that you have to use such words to express yourself.

Sad.

lol, uh huh. What does the fact that you have small children have to do with words on the internet?

We should call and complain about the cuss words on sirius now shouldnt we too? Ya know, since we have small children and what not. Yeah, I hope you see that one has nothing to do with the other.

And what the hell does the size of the child have to do with anything? Perhaps by "small" you meant "young?" But you're right - you've apparently provided a more cogent argument than I have (please note the implicit sarcasm. thanks).
