Default Big Rock 23

Anyone listen to Big Rock on 23(80's Hair Bands)?. Just curious as to how many of you listen and what you think of it.

I listen occasionally. It's decent for what it is. I just wish somebody would play some Hawkwind and Be Bop Deluxe.

Randy Rhoads loved Bill Nelson's (from Be Bop Deluxe) guitar playing. It was a major influence.

Probably one of the few stations that I spend signifigant time on. I'd probably like it better if they went beyond what was popular in the 80s and played a little more Euro Power Metal. Guys like Stratovarius, Edguy, Blind Guardian, Sonata Artica, probably would fit in nicely with this station.

Right now, tho, there is too much 80s cheese for my tastes. It was nice to hear Blue Murder's "Valley Of The Kings" yesterday, tho...

Default Big Rock Rules!!!

No. No. No. No. No.

Sirius should not touch this stream. It's perfect the way it is - knowledgable jocks who seem to know the music, a nice mix of deep cuts and even new music by "hair" artists (lovin' the new Bret Michaels).

People forget how big the "hair metal" scene was from 1984-1992. The millions of people who bought the Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Poison albums are still around, and finally we have a station of our own.

That is all.

Amen, Joe!

I listen to it a lot and I think it's fine as it is. I get to hear everything from new Def Leppard and Bret Michaels to old Killer Dwarfs and W.A.S.P.

Big Rock kicks! Not to mention Marielle sounds sweet during her shift as well!

To be honest, there are newer bands that could fit onto this station as well. I'd rather hear them than Bret Michaels. If I want to rehash the past, I can pull out my CD collection for that...

Another band I have yet to hear on this station, yet was also an 80s band is Savatage.

With only 60 channels for music, some flexibility is necessary.

I hear Rush on 23. Are they an '80s Hair Band, or merely Big Rock?

Oh god no! That's basically a rehash of 98 Rock/ DC101 in this area. I don't know why Sirius bothers, since I can hear that stuff on the local radio stations.

Or Queen for that matter, which gets a lot of play on there.

While they have a decent selection from the 70s and 80s, they seem to ignore any band that came after that.

How about Fates Warning? They do a big thing with Queensryche, on rare occations play Dream Theater, but nothing from the third band on that tour?

How about Jag Panzer? They started out in the 80s...
