Default too many rock streams?

I don't want to make any enemies, just honestly wondering...are there too many streams devoted to rock?

Oraganic Rock, Mellow Rock, World Class Rock, Classic Rock 1 and 2
don't so many of these overlap?

Doesn't the Pulse play a lot of the same stuff a Mellow Rock would play?

I see having these formats:

1. Classic Rock
2. Modern Alternative
3. Classic Alternative
4. Album Rock
5. Lite Rock
6. Heavy Metal
7. Indie Rock
8. Blues

Couldn't almosy every rock song be fitted into at least one of these categories/streams. That would free up several streams for other neglected types of music or entire genres?

I think their current mix of Rock streams is good. Being a bit more specialized allows them to play songs to please the listener 99% rather than 70%.

So where would Big Rock fall? They play alot of old school Metal and alot of Bon Jovi and other hair bands. The old school metal has a home on Hard Attack but not the hair bands.

So where do the Hair Bands go?

Rock and Roll is the foundation of most of the music we listen too today... therefore needs to occupy a good percentage of the overall programming.

The Rock streams are quite impressive as they stand now... after almost 2 years, looks like they finally have it right.... and are pleasing most of the listeners.

I like the lineup just as it is. There is nothing better to clean the house with than rock music.

Default Rock On!!!

I agree that there can never be too many rock stations! Honestly, that's one of my key reasons for digging Sirius- they seperate the rock and give you some really cool tunes as a result. By the way- this site is great!

Rock on!!!

I smell stream changes coming.

Some will no doubt be pleased.

Others will be less so.

Some will be annoyed.

More or less rock streams?

Situation Murky. Ask again later...

What is the true difference between Stream 24-Organic Rock and Stream 25-The Bridge?

Couldn't those two streams be merged together?

No, they are different enough that I don't want The Bridge screwed with at all. What difference does it make if they have Rock covered so well?

Organic Rock and The Bridge are about as similar as, say, Michael Jackson and Barry Manilow.

What difference does it make if rock is covered too well? Well, it could mean a stream is available that could be used for The Nineties or Oldskool Funk or Downbeat or Lounge...

It does at this time seem to be a zero sum game, you add something here, you lose something there.

Not to say that I think rock is covered too well. I don't think that at all.
