Default Cut Back or Eliminate all the George Thorogood

His music both sucks and blows at the same time, and I'm getting tired of having to change the channel because he's on the classic rock stations so much.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ok, I'd cut back on Bad to the Bone which gets way too much play, but I actually wish they would expand the rest of his catalog...

Listening to his Maverick CD right now on the iPod...

Dangit, I hate to admit it, but I have to agree with Jimbo Ex-Lax or Jim Box Lacrosse or however the hell you say that. I am really tired of the same two George Thorogood songs, so I guess I would really rather see them expand their playlists ( ) than just stop playing him altogether.

I think this rant can apply to all stations on Sirius and all the artists that get played. Sirius really needs to expand those playlists.

Agreed. I'd love to hear some deeper stuff off my favorite albums.

Problem is the other stuff on our favorite albums is not known to 98% of the population...

One of my favorite albums is Thorogood's "Maverick". Its got a lot of good stuff on there. but the two songs I'd love to hear is "Willie & the Hand Jive" and the "Ballad of Maverick"... I dont think anyone but me would want to hear those now... I'm sure you all have your esoteric songs that nobody else cares about - It'd be cool to add them once in a while, but chances are I wont be listening when they play it... (unless its a request line thing, but thats another thing altogether)

Yeah... Well, this is satellite radio. There is no ad revenue from commercials to worry about. There is no ratings book to consider. So why not play that "obscure material"; throw us all a curve. Show us that for $12.95/mo you're willing to take a chance. Just stop shoveling the same predictable playlists on our feet.

It'd be a nice world, but wont be a reality until the Sirius suits stop thinking that some potential customer will walk into a Best Buy/Circuit City (that one of our Sirius brethren has just boosted the demo model volume, of course ) and be so disgusted that Sirius is playing "The Ballad of Maverick" that he will get XM instead because "they play stuff he knows"...

I agree.. There MUST be a moratorium on two Thourogood songs....

- Bad to the bone
- 1 bourbon, 1 scotch, 1 beer

They're cute when you hear them the first 1000 times, but they begin to grate on you after that..

Yea, but if also you drop "I drink alone', then that's the end of George Thourogood ...

Did he have ANY other songs ??

These come to mind as songs worthy of airplay: Madison Blues, Move it on Over and Who Do You Love. I'm sure I could come up with a few others. :-)
But I agree, his biggest hits are overplayed on Sirius. IMHO, NONE of them ought to be played on the Spectrum. His music should be confined to lunar rotations on Rewind, and (the less played tracks) on the Vault and maybe the Blues Channel.

Wow, I was trying to dig up a discography of Thorogood songs and it seems that George has more "Best of/Live/Compliation" Albums than he has original ones...
