Nada. Granted Metal Gods week probably shook things up a bit.

Good call! 20+ years together and a great team of Ray Alder and Jim Matheos! They are way underplayed!

And now Kal is playing Fates...Point of View!!!

I'm singing away.....

parallel lives
running parallel with you
to the point
where our horizons divide
my opinion
is just a point of view
and your position
is the other side

I really love Pain of Salvation style. We are just asking for a show but in fact I'll give anything to be the DJ of the Power Progressive Corner channel. Yeah, that's how I call it and It will feature bands like:
Dream Theater(Do I have to mention this one?? )
Symphony X
Queensryche
Fates Warning
Sonata Artica
Raphsody
Kamelot
Artension
Shadow gallery
Labyrinth
Pain of Salvation
Magellan
Marillion
Zero Hour
Spyral Archytect
Enchant
Under The Sun
RUSH
Royal Hunt
Nevermore
Porcupine Tree
Icec Earth
some Opeth(but still one of my favs bands)
Vanden Plas
Star One
Ayren
Frameshift
OSI
Transatlantic
Spoke's Beard
Kansas
Majestic
Adagio
Yes
Freak Kitchen
Digital Ruin

Men the list goes on and on and on.. I'll assure you that there so many bands that the playlitst will be exelent with less repeats.
I have almost 3 thousands of Cds I can provide the music LOL

Keep the list going!!!

Nice list of suggestions here! Yes, finally someone else wants to hear something else besides boring Hatebreed/Trivium-type shit on this channel!

Dream Theater- ehh, take it or leave it.. I like some songs here & there, but im not into em for the most part

Symphony X- same.. killer guitarist, but to me they just sound too cheesy after a while

Queensryche- I like some of their stuff here & there, not that big into em..

Fates Warning- HELL YEA!!!

Sonata Artica- YES!!!!!!

Raphsody- eh, i can do without them

Kamelot- YES!! one of the few 'fantasy metal' bands I really like!

Artension- never heard of them

Shadow gallery- heard of em but havent really heard em

Labyrinth- never heard of em.. i would guess by their name that they're fantasy metal

Pain of Salvation- FUCK YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Magellan- never heard of them

Marillion- or them

Zero Hour- or them

Spyral Archytect- heard OF, never heard

Enchant- ehh not really into em

Under The Sun- never heard of

RUSH- eh, just like dream theater, take it or leave it

Royal Hunt- never heard of

Nevermore- FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Porcupine Tree- I love one song by them, "Blackest Eyes", otherwise, ehh, not really into em

Iced Earth- eh I like some of their old stuff, back when they had Matt Barlow, but now, heh, no comment... I have heard them on there sometimes though, they play "Burning Times" a lot, which is a great song... damnit why the fuck did Matt have to leave to 'get a real job'?????
(I actually have their Gettysburg dvd though, while im not into that album, I do like Civil War stuff and the dvd is more about gettysburg than it is the band... it's a music video to the Gettysburg song, with pics & clips of Gettysburg stuff, and there's a part when John Schaffer walks around the battlefield explaining what certain statues and monuments mean.. it's really awesome.. and yea, John's history shop "Spirit of 76" looks killer, wish it wasnt all the way in Indiana....) however I really like Demons & Wizards, the group with John & Blind Guardian's singer.. "Touched by the Crimson King" is a great new release

some Opeth(but still one of my favs bands)- they play them on there a lot, ive heard em on there... and not just "The Grand Conjuration", ive heard older stuff... im not into em that much but I enjoy some songs here & there, "The Grand Conjuration" included, and another one I like is "Demon of the Fall"

Vanden Plas- never heard of em

Star One- never heard of

Ayren- ehh at first I didnt really like em but I dunno why, I have a desire to listen to em more...

Frameshift- never heard of

OSI- never heard of

Transatlantic- ehh not really into em

Spoke's Beard- same as above

Kansas- all I've heard is "Carry on My Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind"...

Majestic- never heard of

Adagio- never heard of

Yes- all I've heard is "Roundabout", "Owner of a Lonely Heart", and "Seen All Good People"

Freak Kitchen- never heard of

Digital Ruin- heard of but never heard

Meatwad;

There you have it, a list of good bands to check out. If you are more interested in harder progressive music star with Zero Hour and Spyral Architect. Artension firts 3 albums are the best.
A good portion of the bands in that list are from USA, or at least some musicians.

By tha way Pain of Salvation rules!! I found out about this band too late, but I got hooked up so bad that I listen it music almost on a daily basis. Zero Hour has similar style.

Headbangerharry one day, one day someone will be smart enough to answer our prayers..

Just to illustrate how deep this genre is, 3 of my personal Top Ten bands weren't on your list - and a good list it is:

Atmosfear
Beyond Twilight
Pagan's Mind

Keep this thread open - it would be great to know if this ever happens.....

With everyone's great suggestions this should actually turn out to be a full Prog Day instead of an hour.

I have heard them all, Pagan's Mind is very good. That was just a list that I came up with at work. As you stated this is a huge genre, it just doesn't have airtime unless you're listening to a web based station as Progged. This is the station that I use to stay informed. (They are on the live 365 streams but hey do have a website for requests and playlist)

This can be a good experiment for Siruis, it will attract or influece a different kind of listener. This means: New subscribers!!!
