I've requested many of them in the past without any luck.

I have heard delivering goods, You don't have to be old, and Screaming for Vengeance on Sirius. They may have been on Buzzsaw and not HN but I know I have heard them. Deliviering the goods was on of the first songs I ever heard on Sirius.

That was just a response to a comment that I should request my favorite Priest songs on Hair Nation and they'd get played. I also have heard some of those songs played on either Buzzsaw or Hard Attack, but not on Hair Nation. The request system seems to work if you request a song that's already on the station's playlist, but my experience has been that song requests that aren't in the playlist already won't get played. And this is not specific to Hair Nation at all... it's been my experience with requests on numerous stations. Mario from Hard Attack provided a rare exception to this rule. I requested Metallica's "So What" during the Metal Gods week, and that song rarely gets played. He told me what time he'd get it on the air, and he followed through.

Now, back to the original topic of Hair Nation sounding great. Dangerous Darren just played Tesla's "Flight to Nowhere" a little while ago, and I haven't heard that song in a long time. He even made a comment like "let's get a Tesla song on here that you haven't heard in a while." It's these little surprises that make satellite radio great to me!

You have to find a way to New York right? Maybe I will sign up anyway. One month now and I am not tired of Hair nation. Someone posted , I believe on xmfan that after two weeks you will be tired of it.

I just checked the song search, and Priest had been played 53 times on Hair Nation since Oct 1, which works out to 2-3 times per day. Out of those 53 plays, 27 were "Living After Midnight" or "You've Got Another Thing Coming." So half the time you hear Priest, it's one of those two songs. They're great songs that deserve airtime, no doubt! But I think that's where Hair Nation still has room for improvement. They pick great songs from the biggest artists of the era, but they ignore many of the great songs that these artists have to offer. Would many people complain if some of the "Living After Midnight" and "You've Got Another Thing Coming " spins were replaced by some extra spins of "Electirc Eye," "Screaming for Vengeance," "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll," "Hell Bent For Leather," etc? These songs get the occasional spin, but I don't get the overly heavy bias towards only two songs. This spreads to other Hair Nation artists with deep catalogs as well. They play great songs... I just wish they'd play a little more variety of them.
Dangerous Darren played "hell bent for leather" tonite!

That's cool, and I know those songs get played on occasion (see my bolded points from the quote above). I still don't understand the heavy bias towards the two main Priest songs, but that's a topic for a different thread

Back to the topic of this thread though, I heard GNR's "Move to the City" on my way home from work last night, and that was a very nice surprise!

Yesterday Hair Nation saved me from getting a speeding ticket.

While driving home I had Hair Nation jamming to my normal ear bleeding level. This caused me from hearing the radar detector from going off. Being at night, I passed the officer's car and he kicked his lights on and spun back around pulling me over.

While handing him my drivers license and registration he stood there for long duration. He finally walked back to his car and then came back up on mine where he gave me my license and registration back. While doing so he ask me "so do you like the Crue?" Not understanding what the hell he just ask me I thought I had something illegal in my car or was getting set up for a trick question... Just then I realize Motley Crue Wild Side was being displayed on my Sportster and that the officer obviously was looking down at it.

To my delight I said " Yes I do and they rock." Officer asked how I liked that radio and then I proceeded to outling what Hair Nation played and how much the station rocked. Keeping a long story short, officer said he needed to get one of those things soon and I told him "Yeah just watch your speed while listening"...

He gave me a verbal warning and off I went back to my ear bleeding audio level to Hair Nation..

I think that's a felony in Arkansas. Or... it should be.

Two more unexpected songs for me this morning... Cats N Boots "Her Monkey" and Bang Tango "Wrap My Wings." It was great to hear them! I've been hearing a few more songs like this over the past week, so maybe they're in the process of either adding to or shuffling up their deeper selections. Either way, it's been fun!

And each song played does fit this format with Hair Nation. Each song hand picked. There has NEVER been a time listening to Hair Nation where I felt a song just didn't fit the Hair Nation "sound."

Back when I had XM, this was my biggest issue with the Boneyard. It was like playing a huge super shuffle of a mixed bag of rock songs.
