For me, I was going crazy with to alternative music seen in the last 10 years. It was like every radio station on the earth stopped playing metal after 1993, THANKS MTV! With Sirius, the pain has been eased!
Hey Knac- I see your from LA the birthplace of the 80's hair bands. Well it transended all the way to the middle of Michigan. There is a huge 80's rock fan base out this way.I agree it was the Seattle grunge scene that helped the metal downfall. I hope there is a resurgence with Sirius.

There is a resurgence thanks to Sirius. Are you close to Detroit? I remember a station that played metal in Detroit when I was visiting back in 1993, It was called Z rock 102.7 . I still have the t-shirt that I bought from them.

I am in Saginaw about 100 miles N of Detroit. The only stations from Detroit that I recall are 98.7 wheels and 101 the Riff

Dangerous darren just played (7:37 p.m.) a version
of 'winds of change' by the Scorpions, ACOUSTIC style
that I have never heard before....

It was " The Bees Knees"-- (Qoute from school of rock)!!

Default OZ - "Fire in the Brain"

Hair nation is cool just go to their homepage and request whatever song from that era that you can recall.. Now here is a trivia question--- does anyone remember the group OZ and their debut album "Fire in the brain"? I remember that one and still jam to "Black Candles"... it is metal at its ultimate....does anyone else remember that one?

At one point Napster was the only way to get some of this music cuz the radio (fm) stopped playing them and the record company's stopped producing the cd's. I still hunt for out of print cd's at pawn shops!

Just tuned in to Hair Nation for a significant amount of time for the first time. Really cool channel. Good mix of my familiar favorites and music I'm less familiar with.

ZRock was sweet, but LOOOONG gone... only good rock stations left here in Detroit is 89x (alternative) and WRIF.. RIF plays too much shite though, thank god I have Octane and Hard Attack!

I would like to see a song played once or twice a day. Really wouldn't consider a song in a normal rotation if its just a 1 month thing. Not a big Priest listener and am sorry if you cant find the channel that plays huge amount of their songs. I understand what your going through. I had same issues over at XM. Thats why I am now a Sirius subscriber.

Again I see Hair Nation as more of the "Pop" Rock and Roll of the 80's and so seeing a huge cut list from the Priest will be a challenge.

Enjoy
I disagree....hairnation needs to encompass 80's metal...and since when is Judas Priest not a part of 80's metal? They were a major influence!! If they fit anywhere, they would fit best on HN!
There are many bands that are missing from the playlist...besides you can't even request an artist if it is not on there pre-formatted phone list...I tried to request "Tuff" on the "hairline" and they told me the artist did not exist. Bullsh*t! Hairnation's playlist is weak as it was two years ago...in fact they are playing the same reguritated crap they were playing when I was subscriber the first time around in '03

The request line is a joke and an insult to listeners who really know they're particular genre of music.
