People that enjoy Coffee house don't need to pay a monthly fee to here this music. You can here it anywhere. Try going to you local supermaket...they are having the same crap piped in.

Default Coffee House-Saturday Morning

OK, I have listened to this stationed for the past 3 hours and I don't like it and probably won't be listening again. My favorite thing was to get up early on Sat and Sun mornings and put Folktown on. I loved the format, the DJ's, the music. It couldn't have been more perfect for me. Unfortunately, Coffee House doesn't cut it, I'm not interested. I also tried Disorder and didn't like that either. Will tune in at 11 to hear the Darma Cafe but that's it. I may have to rethink my Sirius subscription. I have been a long time Howard Stern listener (since early 80's) and originally got Sirius because he was coming over. But you know what? I doubt I will pay the monthly subscription just for him.

Can't be more disappointed at the decision to do away with Folktown.
Does XM have somehting like it?

I feel the same ... I'm on a 3 day trial for XM and they had The
Village and The Loft, so far both of these work very well for me.
I'm gonna check out Best Buy for the XM Roady today and drop one of my Sirius accounts. What was Sirius thinking ?? They totally lost their edge.

I just heard a rap tune on this channel. I didn't know that rap was something I would go to a coffee house for? The song was:

Trip(Feat Whipper Whip) All about the Music. About 8am PST

I'm assuming that this must of been a mistake.

Default Darma Cafe

Can't find the Darma Cafe either. Thought it was going to be on Disorder from 11-2 sat and sun.

Coffee House is definitely good enough to show up in my top 10 presets, but we'll see how it is long term. Right now I'll just go make make myself a cup of joe and enjoy the 'house

Default The demise of a REALLY GOOD station

WHAT HAPPENED!

I just can't believe it! One of the main reasons I continued my Sirius subscription was for the Folktown station. I sold several friends on it too and now.......?

I had hoped that the Coffee House was just a new name for the same format. But it isn't. The format is nothing like my Folktown. I have given the Coffee House two days and each time I listen, I dislike it more and want Folk Town back.

PLEASE................ reconsider..............even the arrival of Howard won't make this pain go away.

Default finding good folk music else where

Thank you to the person who listed two internet sites that offer good Folk Music, the kind we USED to hear on folk town. This will replace my listening to Sirius while on my computer. I wonder how XM's folk station is?

They started out the show this morning at 10, with Maura saying it would be the same mix of music, poetry, and politics. Then, I had to be away from the radio for about a half hour. When I got back, a Celtic program was on, and continued till 1 PM.

It could have been just a technical glitch, but my gut feeling is that it was related to the word "politics".

The last time I listened to the Darma Cafe they said they would be on sat and sun 11-2. This is all so strange. What do you think is going on? Also, is Meg Griffin off for good too???

Actually, it was supposed to be Sat 10-1, and Sun 11-2. I'm wondering if they got thrown off or quit because they said there would be political content. I have an e-mail into them on their non-Sirius address, I'll let people know what they say when I get a reply.

As for Meg, I have no idea. I heard her Friday afternoon on Disorder, interviewing Bonnie Raitt.
