You worked for KNAC? That's pretty cool. You're a part of metal history. Name me one other station that a dude from Ohio knows about, even 10 years after it went off the air.

Yes, I worked at KNAC 105.5 from August '87 until June of '91. Those were the absolute halcyon years of the station. 3 Sirius DJ's were there at the time, too. Tawn Mastery and Dangerous Darren from Hair Nation, and Long Paul from Buzzsaw. Now, if only Sirius had Thrasher and Gonzo Greg, they'd have the entire DJ crew from that time. There is no other FM Rock Station anywhere in the country that is/was as legendary as KNAC was. KNAC was independently owned by Long Beach Real Estate Mogul, Fred Sands. Real Estate took a shit in California in the early 90's, Fred was losing money and had to liquidate, so he sold KNAC to a conglomerate that dropped the "Pure Rock" format, and went to "Taco Tunes". It's still playing taco tunes today, some 10+ years later.

What was the name of the Chic on KNAC who was the online DJ? She had a great set knockers! I used to stream them all the time.

Maybe somehow we can get Thrasher and Gonzo Greg to come to Sirius. That would be some lineup! I still have five knac 105.5 shirts and about three stickers.

I heard The Rack was in Dallas now at an FM. I used to listen to KNAC online when they launched. It's kind of misleading that there's an online station called KNAC, when it's really not the same at all. She could be kinda bitchy in the chatroom there, just because one day she played Halford, and I said, yeah man, now THIS is a killer song, and she was like "what's wrong with the rest of the stuff we play, asshole." I told her to go to hell and didn't bother listening to her show anymore. I was just saying I liked that song. Of course, all the other sheep there jumped on me too, just so they could think they were cool.
I do still listen to KNAC and Hardradio.com both, just to get a different cross-section of stuff, and so I don't burn myself out on Hard Attack, Buzzsaw, Hair Nation, Octane, etc.

Actually, while I am at work I stream shoutcast stations and leave HardAttack for the ride to and from work.
