Actually the Born Again album with Ian Gillian is one of the best albums Sabbath ever did. I even like the album they did with Dio in the late 90's.
Point taken! I liked a bunch of the songs on Born Again too, and I also liked the 90's Sabbath/Dio cd (I think it was called "Dehumanizer").

The recent solo Dio cd's have been great too. I'd put "Killing the Dragon" right up there with the early Dio classics.

It's still surprising to hear that powerful voice come out of such a small person

I'm not a huge Dio fan but you do have to give him some credit. Mainly because he invented the horns sign, well his grandmother did it I think to block the evil eye or somthing and Dio once at a show and the rest is history!

I actually don't think they are over playing Dio, just more the usual. I think the Deftones, Slipknot and SOAD are getting played alot more then Dio.

Tom Rock even gave me a shout out today because I posted that pic of Dio on his My Space page!

I'm not a huge Dio fan, but his contribution to metal is undeniable. Gimme Dio over the Deftones anyday

Now if they could just add all the Metal Gods content into the current rotation on Buzzsaw. Or maybe merge Buzzsaw and Hair Nation, and give Metal Gods its own channel.

We should have someplace to hear all the Dio, Megadeth, Maiden, Priest, etc. Much of the music is too new for Buzzsaw, and too old for Hard Attack.

Maybe we can get a channel called Denim and Leather. It would cut out all the Spandex and Makeup from Hair Nation and alot of the newer bands that looks like they all went shopping at Hot Topic. I'm sure Saxon wouldn't mind Sirius borrowing the name.

That's the sad part of these special programming events. We get to hear all of these great songs that never find their way into the regular rotation, and just as we're getting used to jamming to them, they're gone

Who ever said Born Again was on of Black Sabbath's best records needs to make candles out of the wax in their ears. Ian of Deep Purple vocals did not match the "heaviness" or the records sounds. And that same heaviness is responsible for making one of the muddiest sounding Black Sabbath of all times. that and the atrocious cover almost put it rock bottom next record Iommi wrote but was forced to call a Black Sabbath Records.

however Heaven and Hell....one of the best non ozzy records.

DIO is a metal god. considering he was on of the top attractions in the US in the 80s and early 90s. I for one crank up the HOLY DIVER every time one of our guys plays it....gotta enjoy it will it last.

Hey Mario, while you're hanging out here, I might as well take advantage of the opportunity to put in a song request with an actual DJ How about Metallica's "So What" before the Gods of Metal week is over?

Thanks Mario! If there's any way to push back the song to sometime in the 8:00-8:30 range, that would be awesome. 6:30 dinner reservations interfering with 7:00 Metallica isn't a good thing

If that's not possible, I fully understand... play it for all the other metalheads out there anyway!

Any chance of getting more of these "gods of metal" songs thrown into the regular rotation on a more frequent basis, or getting some kind of weekly special? From what I've read, the response over here for the Gods of Metal week has been overwhelmingly positive.

You guys are doing a great job, and thanks for checking in with us on the forum!
