That metal station wasn't as good as it could have been either. Had it been as good as Hard Attack, it would still be there. The moderator at that forum is sort of right. The station WASN'T popular, because it was too one-dimensional. No old school metal at all. No Testament, no Anthrax. Nothing like that. The only bands that are considered classic in the metal community that they played were the mighty Slayer and Pantera. I'm sort of glad (selfishly) that XM dropped the channel, because it led to me getting Sirius, and I'm happier now anyway, and I met all these cool people at SBS. Even though we get a little heated sometimes in the political forum, I love you guys.
Great point! If it where not for the poor rock programming , I would probably still be over there.

Great job Hardattack!!!
Here Here! That week was great! Hard Attack is awesome and I really enjoy the mix of different DJ's filling in. More of Ian Christe during the week has brought a fresh look to the station, IMHO.

Yeah I agree, don't get much of Ian during my times I listen. Mostly Jose and Mario. Ian's cool, I love his knowledge of rock.

And since he doesn't have the super-charged vibrant personality like the others - it makes it a "fresh" change.

Yeah, I've been browsing that site just out of curiosity. I never post in it since I don't have XM. But I swear, I'd love to tell them the main reason why I don't have XM is because when I was browsing the brochures at Walmart, XM didn't have a metal station listed. While Sirius had two. Hair Nation and Hard Attack. They're #1 and #2 on my presets!

Oh, and this is my favorite post over there...

"New subsriber here. The songs blow! What is up. Does XM just load every CD into the hopper and play them random. OMG! Like on boneyard... I like RATT, but not the worst possible song on the album. The same goes for every other crappy song that comes on. Its like a 10:1 ratio. 10 Crappy songs for every song I've actully heard in my life, and believe me, I listen to ALOT of music. Accept??? How many actully good songs do they have??? Like 1. But they sure like playing the OTHER 10. Geez whats up? Is it always like this?"

And one of the mods tried to explain that it's called "a deep playlist" and "XM has a deeper playlist than Sirius." I just about died laughing. So not only did he say that he didn't care about his issues, but he also told him that Sirius has what he wants, Hair Nation -- a tighter playlist without the extra crap. I'm really happy that I got Sirius now.

Welcome aboard!!! We need more people to make the switch!!! Hard Attack exposes you to the new metal and the old. You will never be able to say I haven't heard of any of the bands on 2nd stage Ozzfest anymore!

Buzzsaw plays metal too. So I would think Sirus had 2.5 metal channels.

For example, classic Ozzy.

Seen that post. The moderator over there will make you feel like you have issues if you like this kind of music!

What's up with this "Hard Attack 27 most requested songs of the week hosted by Jose" promo I keep hearing? It doesn't give a time or day or coming soon or whatever for said show so I don't know when to check it out. Anybody help me out a little here?

I haven't heard anything either. But then again it's been awhile since I heard about when the "Prog Hour" will be started too. So I would guess it would be...."coming soon." Who knows when that will be? :\

This is probably the main reason why Hard Attack is still around and XM Liquid Metal is gone. Hard Attack came up with a formula that can please the fans of various types/eras of metal, while XMLM focused on a very small portion of the metal community.

Metal Gods week was my "perfect" metal station, but even since it's been gone, I still know I can check out Hard Attack and have a decent chance of hearing some of my favorite, classic metal. These guys do a great job and really seem to focus on pleasing their listeners!
