I don't think i'd consider The Kinks under-rated or under-appreciated. I always liked them. My favorite song of their's is "Destroyer", and that whole album, for that matter, "Give The People What They Want" is their best (IMO). Buzzsaw plays that song at least once every other day.

I so agree. Its awesome to hear them on sirius. I don't ever remember hearing them on FM radio expect when there albums were doing well. 'MMR in Philly did play them from time to time but in my new hometown of Roanoke, VA...they never play Midnight Oil on 'ROV.

How about The Wonder Stuff....great sound.

Oh yeah, the Wonder Stuff. They were certainly underrated!

I was also going to say The Smiths were underrated but as anyone that listens to either First Wave or Left of Center could tell you, those stations play them as much as a Classic Rock station plays Zeppelin or the Stones. So Sirius certainly doesn't treat them as an underrated band.

The Smiths, to me, aren't so much underappreciated as they are...unfortunate. A lot of people would have liked them better without Morrissey (which is kind of like wishing you could hear the Doors without Jim Morrison!). The Smiths would have some killer tunes and Morrissey would just bring the whole thing down with his depressing lyrics.

How about The Ramones? There are those of us who realize that they saved Rock and Roll in the '70's, yet they never had any real mainstream success. But they influenced damn near everybody, and they always make the critics lists. But most people just say, "Weren't they some punk band?" Absolutely.

Dream Theater is the most underrated.

The Smiths are one of the most overrated bands ever. I think people make a much bigger deal out of this band then deserved.

I'll say Stabbing Westward. They were a great band.. love their first CD

They are bit of an industrial grunge meets Pink Floyd

I agree on the Cult and 'Mats, both should have been huge.

How about The Jayhawks and The Supersuckers

You've never heard of Dream Theater!? Actually, in the progressive rock world, they may be a little OVER-rated, and they are my favorite band, ever.
