I am real surprised that they have not decided to do an all Dead channel. With all the bootleg material and live material that the Dead have, along with their devoted fan base, it would be a major success. Does Jam On do a Dead hour yet?

On Saturday nights at 9PM ET Jam_On has a show hosted by Bill Walton called "One More Saturday Night." The show is very good, though at first I thought Bill talked way too much. He still could play a bit more music, but some of the stories he tells are very interesting. Also, he will play some stuff other than Dead. For instance, I once heard him play an all Dylan show that was very good. The show is replayed on Wednesday nights from 9PM to 12AM ET. Check it out if you are a dead fan.

Another thing, it wouldn't hurt to have David Gans' Dead Hour as well!

No nightly "Gone Phishin" = unhappy gilmour25

However, I wish Phish would give Sirius access to more shows instead of just the LivePhish releases.

I was impressed when I tuned in and heard O.A.R. and Widespread Panic playing. Both are excellent jam bands.

I tried Phish when I bought their 'Farmhouse' on CD, wasn't all that impressed, and from what I can gather of their live stuff it's 90% covers (which wouldn't be so bad, but 'Gettin' Jiggy with it?'). It just sounds 'thrown together' whereas the Dead sounds like they were meant to play together as a cohesive unit. To each his own, that's just me.

Personally, I really dig Phish, I think they're loads of fun, but everybody's different.

Anyway, Jam On is great, it's definitely one of the more interesting channels on Sirius.

Chalk up another person who subscribed to Sirius specifically because of Jam On. It is very disappointing that XM doesn't have a channel close to this.

Being a Dead Head, I knew I'd like this channel. Santana, Traffic, Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, etc.... have been enjoyable too. I also like the jam music from a lot of newer bands I've never heard about like Gov't Mule. I can listen to this channel for hours on end.

I'm also not much of a Phish fan. I've tried listening to their music and IMO, it doesn't flow right.

Dead > Phish

Jam on is unlike any channel anywhere else.. I'm new to sat radio, & Jam on is worth the price alone. There is a GD hour podcast that is sometimes really good, but just may be a rebroadcast of a GD hour that I may not be getting where I live. but worth maybe getting on the satelite. but at least once a day a dead hour would be great.. even if it's late late at night. I'm really impressed by the music selection on most every channel ESPECIALLY Jam on. I hope they keep up the quality music programming.

that being said they gotta do something about the sports being divided between the rival.. I don't have room in my truck for 2 sat recievers, or in my wallet,, but that's for another thread sorry for the off topic.

I kind of like XM's Music Lab, but yes, it's no Jam on, but good in its own way.

Radio Margaritaville (031) has the Gans Dead hour, or they used too.

I got sirius for Howard but I llike that there is some Grateful Dead programming. Hope they add more, if not a whole channel.
