My guess is it's Sirius. Since he had a previous deal with XM, I don't think he would be so secretive about which service he was going with if it was the same one as would just be renewing a contract.
I think its more or less the service he has signed with that is calling the shots.

that really blows. i was really hoping for an eddie truck show on saturday nights on hair nation, but instead we get to keep the same ol' crappy format.

seahawks80 will become famous soon enough

I'm surprised too due to his not-so-pleasant exit from XM the last time around. But his type of show doesn't really fit into the Sirius hits-based programming philosophy, so I'm not sure how much of an audience he would have found on Hair Nation or Buzzsaw for a 4 hour show that's largely band interviews and deeper rock cuts. I'm sure some listeners would have loved it, but if many people come to Sirius for the hits-based programming, the show might have had a very small audience.

Oh least I get XM through DirecTV so I can still listen.
Here's Eddie's blog entry:

FINALLY I can share all the news! I'm returning to XM Satellite Radio and I could not be more thriled!! This has been a deal that has been in the works for a while and I appreciate all of your patience while we ironed out details behind the scenes. As many of you know I did a show at XM that ended 18 months ago. That show lasted one year and the response from all of you since it was gone is a big reason I'm back, so THANK YOU for your support! Most important to me was the ability to do my show and have control of it. I thank the management at XM for recognizing the loyal audience I built and showing me the respect to have the creative control to do what I do. I really feel there is some unfinished business with the XM satellite radio audience and I look forward to reconnecting not only with my previous listeners, but with all the new subscribers who have joined in the last year and a half. All the details on the show itself are in the "Radio" section of this site. It is NOT the same show as my FM syndicated program. This is a totally different new live show exclusive to XM. "Eddie Trunk Live" will air live and uncensored nationwide from NYC on XM channel 41 The Boneyard. The show is every Monday from 6PM-10PM Eastern, 3PM-7PM Pacific (afternoon drive on the W. Coast!). Music, guests, talk, calls, giveaways, music news, your phone calls and much more! I can not wait to get started. If you don't have XM you have a few weeks to get it and hear the first show with Rob Halford in the studio on 12/4. You also get XM included for free if you have DirecTV and can buy online subscriptions as well. See to learn all the ways to get on board. Many more details to come. I want to thank the management of XM for bringing me back (Jon, Eric, Lou), and also thank Mike Piazza who played a huge role in me coming back to XM (yes, you read that right!). Most of all thanks again to you guys for the continued support for everything I do. Of course I will also be continuing my TV work at VH1 Classic as well as my syndicated FM show which will continue to air live every Friday night 11PM-2AM from it's NYC flagship Q104.3 and affiliate stations on their respective days and times. More news to come before the 12/4 launch!
