Post Repetition on Buzzsaw

Please, enough with Billy Squier and Aerosmith everytime I turn around! Also, where are the 2 people who actually liked Lunatic Fringe? Never figured out why that song gets so much airplay on sats and regular FM.

webrown could be a new subscriber. Repetition plagues every music channel I listen to. I've had to drop some altogether, such as First Wave. Vault, Alt Nation, you name it. It's regular FM all over again.

Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition
Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition Repetition...
It's maddening.

You think they play alot of Aerosmith on Buzzsaw, try Hair Nation.

I'm right here. I think that song is the shizzy. Cool ass dark 80s sound to it.

I'm sure the reason those songs were hits at some point is because only 2 people liked it. Isn't it slightly possible that other subscribers with different music tastes than yours actually requested it? Probably not, they just do it to annoy YOU...

These repettition threads are getting repetitive. I would suggest listening to more than just one channel. Even a full iPod will get repetitive after a while...

I find this to be the best way to deal with it as well, especially with Buzzsaw. If I can make it through four songs on this channel before I need to change the channel, I consider myself lucky.

So I guess on XM you need to surf to find songs you know and on Sirius you need to surf to get away from them

Take a pill and relax, man. It was just a bit of sarcasm, didn't realize I would have to explain it.

I have to (respectfully) take exception to the "listen to multiple channels" argument. If the sole reason that someone subscribes to Sirius is for Buzzsaw, then they deserve to have a channel with a wider range of artists. (Granted, they would be missing out on a lot of great music if they only listened to Buzzsaw).

With the wealth of songs that fit into the Buzzsaw "format", is it too much to ask to NOT have Van Halen, AC/DC or Aerosmith song repeated once every 1-2 hours? Here's what Buzzsaw is playing today (http://itsonsirius.net/playlist.php?ch=19).

10:16 AM Van Halen-Panama
9:20 AM Van Halen-Eruption/You Really Got Me
7:00 AM Van Halen-You're No Good

9:24 AM AC/DC-What Do You Do For Money Honey
8:16 AM AC/DC-Touch Too Much

9:03 AM Aerosmith-Same Old Song And Dance
8:00 AM Aerosmith-Rats In The Cellar
6:23 AM Aerosmith-Back in the Saddle

This is the reason that I can't listen to Buzzsaw anymore, there definitely needs to be more depth.

Don;t worry, I'm not worked up, it just cracks me up how people feel that a music channel should be programmed to their tastes. They could give you free reign to play whatever you wanted and someone would most likely start a thread about how they didn't like your choices. There's no possible way to please everyone and these threads tend to highlight that more than the "problems".

I'd LOVE to catch those AC/DC songs listed, haven't heard those in a while....

Cool Repetition is the problem

I think repetition is the complaint here. The musical taste on some of the channels is good, as far as it goes.

It would be nice if there was more variety, not a limited number of tracks played over & over & over & over &.......

While a lot of people seem annoyed by the repetition, I'm sure Sirius has done their marketing research and determined that most people either don't mind repetition or actually enjoy it.

Where I live there is a classic rock station that has not varied its narrow playlist for 10 years. It has "no repeat" work days but the repetition is in full force starting at 5 p.m. The next day it's the same thing all over again.

The same thing applies to just about any terrestrial radio station. It's a shame to see Sirius follow the same policy.

I also HAD an issue with repatition on sirius......so I started listening to other channels....here's what I found...three channels right in a row 24, 25 , 26...disorder, garage, and left of center. These channels almost never repeat and imo have some of the best music on sirius. If you don't want repatition you got surf around and be willing to try new stuff...it worked great for me. I also discovrd the met opera channel and soul town...which I never would have guessed I would like...but I do! I've learned in order to get the most from sirius you gotta be willin to try new stuff

The thing ever person forgets on every thread like this is, on the boards you see MAYBE 3% of the total listing public. I am sure the reason the songs we hear over and over again are because that is what is requested by the other 97% of the listening world.
