I'm feeling ripped off.

On my unit, it seems to delete MyChannels content and scheduled recordings for no reason whatsoever.

I had about 4 hours of Raw Dog (scheduled recording) as of this morning which is now deleted.
It also deleted 5 hours of Left of Center (it was a MyChannel but has disappeared).
It has been on Octane for the last 4 hours straight, and has saved nothing, not even adding it to MyChannels.

It has never had more than one MyChannel at a time, even though I have tuned in to at least a half dozen stations for more than a few hours each at a time.

This is bizarre, and can't possibly be the way it's supposed to function.

My girlfriend bought me my Christmas present a little early this year. She got the last S50 in stock @ Best Buy last Wednesday & had it installed the same day!!! I love you Stacey!! I can't wait for the home executive docking station in a few weeks. Does Santa come twice??

Default Deleting 'My Sirius Channels' content??

Is there a way to delete "My Sirius Channel" content? I know that I can delete My Sirius songs, shows & playlists. I am racking up hours of HardAttack 27 & I don't want it taking up my storage space. Is there a way to clear it?

Go to content management, then click My Sirius Channels. and you can clear them all or single ones.

So far, I'm pretty happy with my S50. It hasn't saved anything in the "My Channels" area, but my car rides haven't been much longer than 15 minutes. I just love using the "Love" button to save the songs I like. That's the main reason why I bought this unit. One thing I think they should change, however, is when you are listening live and press the "mode" button, it gives you the options of browsing by genre, channel, or presets. My point is, they should add the option of browsing by artist. That was one feature I liked about the Sportster Replay. Also, the "Lock" switch doesn't completely work. If it is in lock mode, the unit can still be turned on, but once that is done, no buttons function. I would think that putting it in lock mode would also keep it from turning on.
These flaws are things that don't bother me too much, however. I just hope my car kit doesn't start dying out like some peoples' have.

I activated my second S50 tonight at 6:30 CDT and already have My Sirius Channels working and recording. I have 2:24:21 of My Spectrum and 57:31 of My Jam_On. I think the trick is to tune to a channel and stay there for at least 20 minutes and do not change the channel or do any feature surfing. Out of the two S50's I have activated, both have worked perfectly. The first one has made it to Sirius_Son in West Texas and he reports he has had zero problems. The second on is right next to me where it will stay.

Same here. I had to use a knife...and pushed the coil down so that it makes solid contact with the battery. Sounds like it's a bad design, IMO.

I wonder if recorded content expires after 2 or 3 days and deletes itself. This is a big deal if it is true. But maybe it is a software bug that will be fixed in a firmware update. If they don't address this issue soon then I will return the S50.

Default Is my S50 the RIAA version? my saved songs are shortened

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if my S50 has been hacked by the RIAA, but I had over 2 hours of "new country" stored in My Sirius Channels, and as I was listening to it while strolling outside I came across 3 songs that I "loved" and wanted saved. When I went back to listen to the the first saved song only 1min 31 sec was saved, the second song had only 51 seconds saved, and the 3rd song had only 31 seconds......Within a minute of listening to the song from the beginning, I pressed the "love" button (the play button was held until the heart icon showed up)...What's goin' on here?...Shouldn't the entire song be saved?

This wasn't part of a show or anything,,,they were all country songs being played with a song title and artist,,,the song and artists appear in the saved sirius songs category, but they are shortened as mentioned above....Is mine a dud, is the "new country" channel subject to recording limitations by the RIAA here or what?

Default Programming schedule?

Now that I have my S50 I want to record something. Has anyone found a schedule that tells what shows will be on when? I have the list of channels, but I want to know what is on each channel, like a program listing for my TV.

Sorry if this is answered somewhere but I searched the sirius website and these forums, read the FAQ, etc. and couldn't find it.

Thanks.

Default S50 Remote

Yup
Your trick of prying the coil out with a needle to make the remote seems to work.
I just wish they had better quality control.

These questions may well have been covered, but 17 pages of info is a lot to go through - please forgive me if I'm covering old ground.

How easy would it be to move the mounting of the s50 from one car to another? I see that it doesn't use the suction cup mounting like my current receiver, and I like to be able to switch it over to the van for long drives. For that matter, would I be able to switch my subscription from my old receiver to the S50? Is there a fee for that?

Also, I'm assuming that when you use the s50 as a portable unit, you are not able to pick up Sirius broadcasts - it simply becomes an MP3 player. Is that correct? I'm debating between getting the S50, or to simply use my current receiver and buy an iPod or some other MP3 player, but if I was able to pick up Sirus broadcasts while using it as a portable, that would be a sure clincher.

Honestly, it would be kind of a pain to move the mounting kit from one car to another. It would be easier to buy a second car kit and keep one in each vehicle.
In answer to your second question: you can NOT recieve live broadcasts when the S50 is not in the home dock or the car dock. You are correct; when you use it as a portable device, it is an MP3 player.

One clarification on this - I would not need to move the antenna, assuming that the ones I have now are compatible - I have an home kit antenna I put in the 2nd vehicle when I use it there, so I just need to bring over the cradle. I'd kinda hate to have to buy a 2nd car kit for the couple of times a year we'd use it in the other car.
