Default S50 Firmware Upgrade

I'm not able to upgrade the firmware. I see the download, I get the browser instructions to pop-up. I close the Device Setting window, and eject the unit, then disconnect the USB cable from the S50, but I never see anything about the upgrade after that. I power the S50 off, and back on, but it just my normal menu. Any suggestions? Thanks

Go to Device Settings, then Device InFo. What SW Version do you have?

Sounds like you are following the proper procedures. Are you docking the player before powering back up?

I'd call the S50 support line unless someone else has a better idea.

I've been thinking about your post. Have you tried a default restore and then try to download the SW Ver 1.0.10?

I loaded the Sirius Software on a different machine. Followed the directions, and it worked just fine. Just another nail in the coffin for my old "Living Room Laptop that sits by the Lazy Boy"... Thanks for your concern. Cheers...

Default I've had the same problem

I can't get my s50 media player to update the firmware either. Sirius support couldn't help . They just said it may be defective. I've reinstalled the software. Reset the defaults both on the media player and through the computer. Taken the battery out for 10 seconds. Nothing has worked so far and I don't have another computer to try installing it on like the user who first posted the question. I called tech support again, but the same woman answered named Samantha. It goes through the motions of updating, but it is never reflected on the media player itself, it still says version 1.0.1 Any thoughts?

Yeah, I am a little confused on that myself. Are they the same? Was there a previous one? It tells me that there is an update available but I thought the numbers were a little curious.

Yes. The last number changes to a 10 rather than a 1.

Thanks Hitch. They could have at least made it an 11.
