Default REQUEST: Chapters on Stern replay as it is on live show

I would like to request that chapters or bookmarks be setup up on the 9 pm Stern replay show as it is on the live show.

I record the Stern show at 9pm and pop the unit out of the dock (car dock rigged up at home) in the morning to listen to the show at work during the day. I'm recording the show in half-hour increments to avoid the extreme annoyance of fast frowarding through over an hour of content. I've noticed that you can skip chapters with a single click of the FF button on the live show and during Howard 100 news but the replay show only displays Howard Stern Replay during the entire run of the show. A single click of the FF button skips the entire block of your recording (up to two hours.) If the progammers at Sirius would include chapters on the replay as they do on the live show I would then be able to go back to recording in two hour blocks. The half-hour recording of one of Stern's shows alone meets the 10-show recording limit that the S50 allows.

This is the only way, to my knowledge, to listen to Stern at work everyday with one receiver at least until he streams the show over the internet.

Interested to know if anyone else has a work-around. Thanks.

Nope, it is a pain in the ass, usually when I just press the fast forward button on Howard it will just jump to the next commercial so it is just easier to hold it in.

Pretty sure the bottom one will be the oldest one. Yea, that's a stupid feature though.

You copy them from your S50 to your hard drive? Then what?? If you put them back, I was under the impression that the S50 will not recognize them?

To delete, play the show that you want deleted. When it starts to play hold down the play button, and it will ask you if you want to delete it. When using it with the car dock hold down the love button.

That or put them on cd's. I ran a headphone jack from the s50 to the "line in" on my soundcard and then use a program called 3d MP3 recorder, I record at the highest bitrate and fit each day's show onto one disk. Then save it as a data cd, and playback on computer, dvd player and some cd players. If you want it to playback on all cd players you will have to split each days shows onto several disks(under 80 minutes)

Benjy was talking about this method on Friday's show I believe, when they were discussing saving to hard drive and transferring to an ipod.

I have my S50 plugged into my PC soundcard and use this free Microsoft program to encoder into WMA format.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx

The whole show at CD quality is about 140 mb, with this program you could also stream what you are encoding to any computer on the local LAN or if you forward the correct ports through your firewall or router, to any computer on the internet.

A caller the other day called in to the show and requested that they put the "chapters" in there during the replay. Call the show or email them, which seems like the quickest solution to me.
