Default same "invalid image." error

error occured lilke the others here....from the new update.

Invalid image.
Invalid image.
Object loading failed
Please connect USB cable
Mini-B->Device Mode
USB2.0 MSD

Its a reoccuring error...meaning, i plug into the computer and it says its reloaded then i disconnect...S50 resets itself then turns off. When i turn it back on same Invalid image error all over again...and again.

I've restarted my computer then opened up MSS then plugged in the S50...same "invalid image"

Ive tried downloading the firmware "s50main.MI4 file" from a link on this forum and manually coping it to my S50....same "invalid image".

Ive just ran the auto updater (http://www.gwi.net/~droobie/S50Update10200402.exe) and it gives error close to the end of the update saying disk is full.

I also tried to do a reformat...but my computer says that it is only a 16mb device. I did reformat anyway then reloaded the firmware and got the same "Invalid image" error.

what else can i try??

Try a Windows Format on the device then move over the firmware.

I just found this in another post.....(http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum...highlight=16mb)

Post by: oren
"I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, efudd. Mine was in the exact same shape. I also noticed a single, read-only file named "VERSION" in root. I never did the TFS, couldn't figure it out, but you probably know I took the long way, with fomatting, moving the firmware file over, etc. I did drop the image in root, and had difficulties with windows saying the drive wasn't formatted, and it wouldn't allow me to format it to anything but a 16MB device. (???). Anyway, the unit apparently reformatted itself (is the correct size now) and I was all set to go. All I needed to do it connect it to MSS to update and all's ok now."

I wonder how i could get the unit to reformat itself like this guy did??

Default Did the three finger restart

Spoke with sirius tech support they had me do a three finger restart. The restart semingly worked like it was supposed to but the s50 main was automacticaly reloaded on the devise when plugged into the computer.

Call was cut off by bad cell service. So didnt look like they were going to tell me anything i havent already done.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Did it work the second time? Just connecting it to the computer usually does not load the s50main.mi4 file. Normally you have to start up the MSS program.

After this you need to reload the factory defaults to get the rest of the bitmaps. Did you do this?

In doing the 3 finger lots of times I did get times where things did not work the first time. I'm not sure if it is oversite or just timing, but usually repeating the procedure will work.

Hope you are in good shape now.

Default got it fixed!

not sure....if it was just this combination or what but it worked.

I reformated...then ejected. Then, I did a 3 finger restart and plugged back into the computer. I copied the "s50main.MI4 file", which i got from (http://clik.to/s50main), directly to the device and then ejected. The unit reset itself and turned off. When i turned it back on this time it updated like it was supposed to!!! YEA!!! I have no idea really why this worked as opposed to everything else...but it did.

Thanks to this forum!

I'm sure manually moving the firmware file s50main.mi4 did the trick. Make sure you followed up with a factory restore from MSS to get all the bitmaps and voice tags.
