Default How do I return this thing? Can't take it back to best buy

How do I return this thing? Can't take it back to best buy (past 30 days, I guess)... They have nothing SIRIUS on the shelves anyway. What # do I call? Can I do it on-line? What info do they need? How long does it take? Do I send mine to them first or after I receive the new one?

I would start with Sirius s50 support and go from there

They will probably give you another number to call probably on Monday.

you must be new here if you didn't get BB's extended (4 year) warranty. It's only $50. As for being out of stock, I thought most stores are getting them in regularly now - so any outages should be short lived.

NO, not really new here.... Obviously I bought the S50 before I started comming to the forum, but thanks for the f*/cking tip */sshole.... J*sus Ch*/st I come on here looking for alittle help & assistance, and I have to listen to a Passive-Aggressive comment like that, NAFDDUR go F*CK YOURSELF !!!!! ... and Wrong again genius, The BEST-BUY here is still sold-out of everything sirius right now.... thanks for your contribution to the forum tho'.

Just because someone has 20 more posts than you and a member a month longer does not make you a newcomer.

Just to let you know, I personally did not buy the extended warrenty either. I bought mine from best buy too. I figured the added cost was not worth it at the time. I got mine the end of November last year and at that time there were not a lot of issues since it was so new. Besides it had a 12 month warranty and by then I thought it would be outdated like everything else electronic these days.

Well - I'm sure you won't let customer service give you a hard time. Just be persistant and tell them to send you a new unit first.

One Suggestion. Don't use too many of those #*@& words when speaking to them..

OK - the tip (again, for the umpteenth time) for anyone relatively new here - or for those of you with low reading comprehension like Pistol.

Buy your S50 at Best Buy and get the 4 year warranty for the measly $50. Whats $50 more on an almost $1000 investment (including the home dock, skin, decent headphones, and lifetime subscription)? You willl get unlimited exchanges of defective radios during that time period, as well as the option to upgrade to a newer model if you wish. The best of all worlds.

True, some stores may be temporarily short of supply, but if you live in a reasonably civilized area, there are likely several Best Buys within driving distance that routinely receive new batches of radios. Good luck.

WHat did the guy/gal say that was so wrong? He's right... on a high priced item like the S50, you SHOULD buy the 4 yr warranty. I actually thought he was helpful

Since when is telling someone what they don't want to hear passive aggressive? We know you aren't passive aggressive, you are just down right aggressive. Your reply is inappropriate and violates forum guidelines. Take yourself a chill pill. If you ask for suggestions posters are going to make them. When they do and you don't like the answer, think twice before you reply like this again.

i purchased the s50 a few months ago and did not get the warrenty (i think they are a waste of money) but now i wish i had purchased it. do you know if i can purchase it after the fact?

dont know how long after you can still get it, but I called BB and got my extended waranty the day after. (that button feels flimsy as hell)

Officially, I'm pretty sure the BB extended warranty is available for 30 days from the date of purchase.

However, if you are a reasonably firm, tactful, and positive negotiator, I'd bet this warranty can be purchased beyond the 30 day limit. What's the worst BB can do? Say No!

But, for example, if you go in and say `BEST BUY - go F*CK YOURSELF IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME THE 4 YEAR WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THE 30 DAYS HAS EXPIRED,' I'd say you'd be s*it out of luck.

Look for a thread on this issue of BB warrranty. It was stated there that you can only exchange your unit once during that warranty. Don't know if it's true,but the post seemed legit. Good Luck !

It’s very true. It’s a one time replacement over the 4 years of the warranty. If you use it the first week the warranty is over.

Had a 10gig iPod with the famous battery problem. Kept it for 23 months and took it to BB to get a replacement about 1 week before the warranty ran out. At this point the only "like" products are the 4gig Nano and 30gig video iPods. There is nothing in between and I can't downgrade to the 4gig cuz there is 6gig of music on the device.

From my understanding BB's warranty states they will REPLACE with a comparable product in the event they cannot fix the product. Obviously they could not fix this product.

Bottom line is they would only give me the purchase price of the old 10gig and not trade up to the 30gig. Going to the 4gig Nano would have been a step down so the only logical choice was they needed to upgrade me to the 30gig "for FREE".

Guess what? No dice. They wouldn't do it. I'm not really a big fan of the BB warranties any longer.
