Default Is there anybody that doesn't have S50 problems?

Just wondering.... mine has been pretty trouble free. I'd say I've had it on for about 2,500 hours since I bought it in July. Sorry for all the people that have bricked ones, and Sirius keeps giving the run around too. Really not digging that.

I'm having ZERO problems with my S50... because it's in the closet and I'm listening to my Stiletto

Default No S50, no problems!

Yeah, I haven't had any problems at all since it died last month. No more missed shows, no more problems getting my PC to recognize it, no more "acquiring signal" messages. It's been great!

You know, when you make a first post like that, it's less than believable.

I've been trolling the boards since 9/29 when my S50 went dead. Warranty claim went in 10/11 after trying to revive it based on advice I learned of on the boards. Call me a long time troller, first time poster.

I've had mine since April and it's been mostly problem-free.

Ok...so for the running tally...we have a grand total of TWO that actually works so far.

Mine is a POS and non-functional.

Actually, I have two. No problems. Well, a three finger on one.

I had a Nikia phone that broke. Are those a POS too?

Admittedly, based on what you read in this forum, S50 is not what you'd refer to as a robust device. But how many portable things are? I think that if you treat them gently, always turn them off when you move them from one dock to the other, many of them can serve you pretty well. That's not to say no one ever had problems, obviously they do. The S50 probably wouldn't win a JD Power award for relability. But if you take your statistics from this forum, probably well over half should be out of commission by now. I doubt that is correct.

I think the really sad part (from what I read here) is SIRI customer service. Which is probably poor for all of its products.

I had problems with my first one. The 1.3 firmware was horrible. I tried to do a channel reset while I was getting the "antenna not detected", it froze up and the 3 finger salute couldn't fix it. I've had no problems with the second one, it came with 1.2 and that's what I'm sticking with. I'm sure 1.4 is great but I'm not interested in messing it up. It anit broke and it doesn't need to be fixed.

I've had one since Nov... no 3 finger, no removing the battery... it has recorded without failure and provided me great service.

Mine had a problem with encryption in April 2006. I wasn't happy that I lost all my recorded songs, but I was fine with it still working after a reset. In May 2006, the car dock bricked. Now it's dead. Been waiting for Sirius to deal with my claim since August. So, for an S50 I got for Christmas last year, it's worked for a total of four months. I have three other Sirius radios and am seriously considering cancelling them all because of this situation.

Mine has been great. Only once (in April) I had the data restart. I lost a few loved songs and that was it.

Seems that if you keep it out of the heat and don't use it as a portable it's fine. It'll get a little weird on ya but nothing a reboot won't fix (so far)
