Default On the line with Sirius right now

I got thru to Sirius after 40 + minutes on hold and am speaking to someone who knows what he's doing. I am upgrading from the s50 to the stiletto with full credit for all my Sirius expenses (home dock, etc.) Stilettos are expected to ship by November 17. Does everyone think this is the right move?

Oh NO DISCONNECTED!! Now I'm back on hold again.

I went through the same deal...but they told me to buy one on my own, fax them the reciept, send my S50 back (which I did signature required of course) and I will get a credit. So now i'm a happy owner of a SL100. Hopefully I won't have to wait as long for the credit (almost 4months.lol)

You guys were able to swap out the S50 for a S100?? How? What did you say to get them to that? I would have totally done that...teach me, oh teach me!

I asked if that was possible and how much extra I would have to pay and the guy I spoke to said that he would transfer me to customer care to set it up with my credit card, receiving full credit for all the Sirius equipment I've purchased toward the price of the Stiletto. I'm just not sure, given that I don't have wifi and there is currently no home or car dock available, if this is the way to go. While the Stiletto sounds good in theory, there are features of the s50 that work for me (loving songs from favorite channels).

shorter than what? i am on hold now already 20 minutes with the same creepy space age slant muzak version of "call me" playin over and over..what kind of hold music is that for a radio service..they better answer soon or i'm gonna go insane

I tried calling warranty support and asking for the Stiletto instead of the S50 and I was shut down. I asked for a supervisor and they wouldn't transfer me, but the guy came back after a short hold and again was told, "no dice".

Mom...can you give a bit more detail on how you got them to do this and have you received your Stiletto yet?

Anyone else able to get this deal?

Default Switching to a stiletto

Bellboy-

When I talked to the guy (his name was Rob in Warranty) on Friday, I asked if it was possible and I offered to pay the difference. He put me on hold, came back and said no problem. He was going to transfer me to customer care and explain the situation to the CC person (mark or marco) himself so I wouldn't have to do that. Unfortunately, the call was disconnected and I had to call back. In the interim, I looked more carefully at the options on the Stiletto and decided to stick with the s50.
I will say, though, that when I called back, the woman in Warranty that I talked to sounded just as eager to switch me to a Stiletto if that was what I wanted.
I'm sure it all depends on who you talk to. Also, the calmer and friendlier I was, the more accommodating they all were.

I haven't got the chance to attempt getting a s100 vs my s50, what I realized though when I saw the s100 in action at Radio Shack was that the antenna input on their radio doc was different than the one on my s50 dock. I would have been a little upset if I had to run that wire all the way through my car again.

I also have the power supply connected directly to my 12 system using their provided lighter adapter tucked away nicely in my dash. I would have to buy one to determine if the lighter adapter is the same.

You sure about this? I asked in another thread (maybe on the Stiletto forum) if I could reuse my S50 antenna and cabling with the Stiletto and I'm pretty sure I was told I could.

TY, Rubin, I think it was you who reported this previously.

With all of the S50 problems I've had, I've NEVER had an antenna or reception problem in either my car or house (knock on wood, of course).

I was wrong if other people have tried it and the antenna fits. The antenna on the display car dock looked much different, but I guess that could have been because it was a display.

Now I have to go back to trying to choose between an S100 and my s50.

just have to say thanks to this board my S50 is on its way
if i wasnt a reader i would never have known the s50s were in..

I did finally get claims on the phone and they set me up to ship out this past monday

advice to all you guys who have claims..you ahve to call..the woman told me my old claim number was invalid because it had been longer than 30 days! (uh and whose fault was that??!)
so she issued me A NEW claim number then processed the replacement shipment..

sigh..finally

but again thanks to all on this board!

Just called the claims department and he set me up with an "advanced return" (his words). They are shipping mine out tomorrow and I should have it in 7-10 business days. Then I have to send mine old one to them in 30 days or get charged. I also was given a new claim number, so I would advise everyone to call to get your claims expedited! I waited about 15 minutes on hold.
