Smile Update On S50 Claims

Hello everyone!
I spoke to someone in the claims department for the S50 today.
He stated we should have our units by 3rd week in Nov. Seems to me he was certain. I know the runaround we have all had, but he seemed convincing.

Also, if you goto CRUTCHFILED.COM and see the s50 page, states that they expect them NOV 3RD!?!?

We will see, let's hope so...I bet it will be a buyers market on ebay when we all get our replacements. I will treat mine like a newborn after all this let me tell you...

If Sirius comes through by Thanksgiving, I will have the service turned back on, I do miss it and DO NOT want to go to XM.

As it so happens, I filed a claim yesterday for my s50 and of course was told the units were not being shipped at this time and didn't know when they would be.. yadda yadda yadda- Exactly what I had expected to hear. TODAY, i called back to bitch and was told that the issue w/ the FCC has been resolved and that I should be receiving the swap out unit in 7-10 biz days.. Not sure if this is true but based upon what you were told, it may actually be true!! I'll keep you posted.

believe it or not. got home today and my s50 was there. i still cant believe it. hooked it up and sounds great. cant wait to record stern tomorrow and listen to him at work. i work outside.

theres a plug were the fm out is on the car dock. dont ask me why but it was a bitch getting it out. one out hooked it up called them and it was literally music to my ears

You have a bad sense of humor. You sure it wasn't the broken one you sent back returned by the post office because of not enough postage?

Just kidding.

Did'tn they email you or call you before it was sent? Did you send your broken unit back when you filed your claim or did you give them a credit card number?

I just got off the phone with Warranty and they are sending my replacement S50 today! So they got the S50's back and we will see if they fixed the problem or just messed up the FM transmitter!

I just called and they are sending mine out as well and it will arrive in 5-10 business day via UPS ground. They will charge me for my unit if I don't send the bad one back.

The woman on the phone was very nice and she was well aware of the issues of the s50 and knew exactly how to handle my order.

Also, I asked her and she stated that all the known problems were addressed in the replacement units and I won't be getting an s50 which will have all the same problems as before.

Just called (2:30PM eastern). Was on hold for only about 7 minutes. The backorder is lifted and my S50 is shipping out as well.

I too will be receiving my replacement via ups. I am wondering if CS has changed...Everyone is reporting shorter wait times and friendlier customer service reps. Perhaps all the complaints about poor customer support had an effect on Sirius' approach to servicing it's existing customer base. Regardless of the reason, I can't wait to be listening to Sirius again...it's been far too long.

I couldn't wait any longer - I just exchanged my S50 at Best Buy for a Stiletto 100!!

I saw a post earlier this week that said the manufacturer's warranty was good for exchanges for one year. I never knew that and just assumed that I had to go through Sirius because I did NOT have the extended protection plan. (I know - assume makes an a$$ out of u and me!) My first S50 worked from December to this May. The replacement Sirius sent me was dead on arrival, and I have been waiting for almost six months for a new radio!!

BB exchanged the defective S50 for a new Stiletto 100 with no problem. I paid the extra $25 difference in price, plus I bought a protection plan (!!) for a total out-of-pocket cost of $62.

I know they are now shipping S50s again, but how long until these have problems? I believe the S50 is an inherently problematic design, after seeing so many complaints here and elsewhere on the net, plus after talking to retailers. Initial indications on the Stiletto are that it is a much stabler platform. Plus I like the idea of wi-fi Sirius in my basement.

Does anyone know what we will receive? A full retail box for the s50, antenna, ear buds and all? And will we have to return all the old stuff as well as the s50 itself? Or will we just have to return the broken unit?

Just called warranty support (30 mins + hold time) and my S50 is on the way as well. I took the "CC info and we'll send it to you and you send the dead one back in 30 days" path.

I'm supposed to have it 7-10 business days...more to come.
