Ok...talked with Miss Brittney today and yes, I received my S50. And as Borat would say, "...NOT!"

Yes, she verified that while she was off Monday, nobody did nuthin' and my S50 remains in its undisclosed location with Mr. Cheney. So she put me on hold (really?, yes really!) and came back only to tell me that she was fed up with the way I was treated and that she asked if she could call me back after she speaks to her supervisor to protest this. So, sure what the hell...talk to you later...

She called me back--and I wasn't there (lunching), but she left me a voice mail saying that had a very long conversation her supervisor and with the warehouse and that she bumped up to shipping the next day air (woo) and that I should have it by tomorrow (do tell!).

So I called back to speak to her to get more details and let her know of some people's treatment (from here) at the hands of the evil empire known as Sirius. I even let it slip (oops!) that some here were talking about going all class action-ish on their asses.

I also spoke to her of folks here that have been waiting for months to get their replacement. She pretty much confirmed what most of us here already know--if you don't call in, you're going to be at the bottom of a very long list. She said that there are people that have replacements coming to them since February, but have not called back to see if S50s have come off of backorder or not. "But can you really blame them?", I told her. Zero contact seems to have that effect on people--why do you take our email address if you don't use them to contact us? A rhetorical, but necessary question to vent at her. (I'm starting to wonder if I've had my email sold by them and they have no intention of using it for service.) I've had to deal with this crap for a very short amount of time compared to them and I'm about to lose it. She agreed, but again as we all know it does nothing to shoot the messenger. Sirius is the responsible party.

After the iPod battery issues, a couple of guys made a viral video, put it on the web and they were instrumental in bringing a major corporation around 180 degrees in their policy. THIS is what needs to happen to Sirius. Public humiliation will work one hell of a lot better than some useless class action suit. Unless there's a lawyer on here that's going to work it for free (again, NOT!) the teams of lawyers are going to be the ONLY ones that benefit from a CL suit. Anyways...jumping down from my soapbox.

Glad to see you respond back, but sorry to hear you're getting the same crap that I am.

I'm still curious about what will be on my door step (if anything) when I get home today. The way it's been going it's probably going to be a home dock and not a S50.

I have a broken S50 just like 98% of the nation and I feel all of your pain!

After reviewing these forums, I decided that the bect answer was to call everyday and get an update. I figured the worst case scenario, I could get the magicl combo to an upgrade of a Stilletto. I am working on day 16 now...

I have heard all of the same stuff that you all have heard, and I have to imagine that the "spread sheet" is HUGE by now! Heck, my name is on there 5 times alone, so I would imagine that I am not the only one as a duplicate.

It started out with a 7/10 day wait as they just got off of backorder status.
(my first call was during the back-order)

Then I was told that I had a problem with the paperwork and it would be resubmitted the right way = 7/10 more days.

Now I am calling to get the elusive tracking number...

8 days of calling go by and I finally get a bump up to 2 day air status - woohoo!...maybe...

Today I should of recieved the unit, but I was passed by the UPS man who didn't have squat for me...again.

So now I called today and the worst player on the Sirius Customer Service team (James) answers, and I sigh... He says that there is no tracking number that he can find. I told him that I will not hang up till I get this resolved (in a polite manner of course). He says he will add me to the spreadsheet. I told him that is unacceptable and I need resolution to my dilemma, as I have been told two days ago that I would have a unit in hand today. He again says that he can't do anything. I ask to be transferred to some of the better folks on my list (see below). He oblidges and tries two people, but neither are there and he tells me that he can't keep trying people all afternoon. So I thank him and tell him that I will call back to get another person.

I call back and get a new person, Lamar, and he was helpful and guess what... he gave me a tracking number! How can one person just rattle it off and the previous person says he can't do anything?

The number doesn't work on UPS's website yet, but I will be trying tonight and in the morning... I can't wait to get anther POS S50...

Here is my complete list of people that I have talked with. A "*"next to the persons name is a good thing, a "-" is bad.

Beth Ext. 4045
Theresa
Darnell
* Rachel (twice)
- Josh
- James (three times)
** Beverly (Bumped me to 2nd day status)
* Lamar (got me a tracking number)
** Nerica Ext. 4312 (ran down to Lamars desk and verified the tracking number and was very pleasant about the whole deal even though she was out of breath from running)

That was a rough order, but there were a couple of days taht I don't have names for, so it gets a little lost.

As they say, the reward for good work is more work and I know that 3 of those people up there need a pat on the back for a good job. There are also a couple that need a pink slip.

I will report back when the tracking number works...

And here I thought I was the authority on calling CS! I hope your tracking number works and is not some work of fiction by the agent to get you off his back. I can truly feel for some of these people that are caught between a rock (Sirius) and a hard place (all of us), but you're right--you just have to keep calling to get what you want.

You should also get a pat on the back yourself for all of the work you've done in letting us all know about your experience. Sorry to say that all of this "work" is completely uncalled for when trying to use a company's product. THEY should be the ones jumping through the hoops to make us happy. When you do it yourself it's just masterbation.

I was given strength by ixp's post so I called and got to talk to Brittney again.

"You want the good news or the bad news," she tells me. Oh Christ...

Bad news: not getting the S50 today because when I talked with her yesterday afternoon and she moved it up to next day air, it was past the pickup time. Yeah, yeah...

"Good" news: I will be getting the S50 not today, but tomorrow. Yeah, yeah...

More bad news...because of the f-ed up way they run things, they won't have a tracking number until after UPS collects the packages, labels them, and transmits a list of the tracking numbers (via email) back to them. Talk about efficient!!

Jeez...ixp, your tracking number might just be a fake after all.

...because low and behold upon returning home, on me doorstep I done seen: a brown box!

YES! A brown box with a big dent in the side--but a brown box that wasn't there when I left this morning all the same!

So I open it and there is a retail boxed S50 (with car kit) and on the bottom, a letter...

Ahem...reading...

"...you are just minutes away from listening to programming you love." Um...yeah...how long have y'all been waitin'?

"Enclosed are your refurbished radio and accessories..." Hold up dawg...re-whatta now? I seem to recall getting a NEW S50...so I get a refurb, eh? Well at least it's a radio, right?

Ok...time to play...will report back on whether or not it works.

Default Test 1: PASSED!

So, called up support and had it switched over.

Dusted off the home dock and plugged it in--wincing all the while. Fairly crappy reception inside and I didn't get any channels (other than 184) right away. The CSR resent the activation signal and that did the trick.

So, test #1 passes...now to move to the car. That report coming up later.

The version on the unit was 1.4.1, so I don't EVEN want to dock this thing to a computer--don't want to risk it for now. Let me know if anyone wants to know anything else about this unit.

I am concerned that the tracking number was manufactured, so we will see. Nothing tonight via UPS website tracking... Will wait till morning and see.

What I am wondering now is if I can get the reman'ed unit and take it back to best buy and get me a stilletto in trade. I need a unit with a healthy FM transmitter and word on here is the the reman units are half of the transmitter that the original is - right?

Give me a post and let me know how your replacement works BellBoy.

My tracking number is working! Although we are on day 3 of the two day shipment, and it will be here tomorow... Go figure.

I just called for the first time to return my S50., Set up the advance exchange . I was told by Karen it would be 48 hours to process the claim then 4 to 7 days to ship So how long do I wait to call again to see if it was shipped? What's the address to ship the bad S50 back to 7060 staten rd FL ?
The phone number I called came back to this address.

Awesome! So glad that the gloom appears to be lifting over this place and now (hopefully) others can report that they'll start getting their replacements as well. Let us know how it works.

When I first was told that I would have to send my broken S50 in, I was given the following information:

Sirius
7060 State Road 84
Building 12
Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33317

Include in the packaging the following information:

Name and Address
Claim Number
SID#
Account #
Model: S50

I imagine if you mess up just one of those, you will be paying for a second S50. I would also send it retun receipt. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Cover all your bases and leave a paper trail.
