Thanks, That's the feeling I got when she was giving me the return info. I just wanted to double check the return address so there was no problems later.
She wouldn't take Discover card and I thought that was strange too.

Post Test #2: PASSED!

Forgot to post the results of the car test. It's all good! Actually listening to Howard again on the morning commute is so nice.

Also took the leap and docked it with the computer and everything is working okay. No update needed, but I did notice that there's a new version of My Sirius Studio (updated for the Stiletto) and I upgraded to the latest version of 1.1. Again no problems after the upgrade.

Good luck to all of the wait-ers. Keep calling...that's the best action to take. I was bumped up to next day air by Brittney. She was actually nice enough to CALL ME today to see if I got the S50. If you want something done, ask for her...at ext. 4260. She's good.

Now all I have to do is box up the POS S50 and get it to them...if airfare wasn't so much I'd walk it to the damn door to make sure they got it. Gonna put every kind of tracking system on that biotch to make sure it gets there and someone signs for it.

Beth was the only person I s/w there who knew anything. She verified my replacement unit was shipped out yesterday and gave me a tracking # that actually works!

i got no replacement
called and talked to darnell..i m on the spreadsheet for 2nd day air..

what are the chances?

It took over two months to get a home dock replaced. I called at least once a week. Plan on spending at least 45-60 minutes each time on hold. If your time is worth anything, it is cheaper to go out and buy a new unit.

Just called because I was supposed to have mine by today. Got bumped to 2nd day air by Jaclyn. Supposed to call back next Friday b/c of the holiday if I don't have it yet. We'll see.

I just got off the phone with yet another warranty rep and have been told that my unit shipped out yesterday and should arrive on Monday! She even gave me a UPS tracking number. I went to the UPS site, plugged in the number she gave me, and the number worked. The s50 is scheduled to be delivered on Monday, November 20.

Don't give up, everybody. This may yet work out, if you don't mind months of aggravation, lies, and backpedaling.

I can't wait to hear Howard Stern again!!

UPDATE ++++++++++++++

I got my replacement unit today, and drove right to best-buy with it in an effort to get it replaced with a Stilletto. That didn't work because it was 4 months ago when I purchased the unit, but they did say that they would replace it with another s50, so I said, OK and they couldn't find it... um.... maybe cause they don't make them anymore...

Anyways, I am back in satellite land after transferring my service to the reman unit. All seems to be just fine after the intial "Software update" that it went through the first time I powered it up in the car.

Now onto getting a reimbursement for the bum unit. I will be sending teh bad one back Monday morning with a return receipt on it so there is no argument on if they got it or not.

Still sucks, Christina told me to call back on Monday. Thank God for the Starmate replay. Does everyone waiting on a S50 have a backup?

My backup is the internet. I called today after my 10 days passed to find out I was one of the people "accidentally put on backorder" and my unit should now arrive in another 7-10 days according to Bev. Since I am a lifetime member they won't credit me for any of the time I was without a radio. Guess they figure I can't hold cancelling over their heads.

these people are trying to help i promise i work there these are the hoops that we have to jump through as well. i have helped a few people by lurking on this site for a while. if people would post their claim number (seven digits all start with 1) i can check on those units and yes vance baldwin is where these units go and just like everything else the bottleneck is the warehouse. every time an end user calls we have to verify info and make some kind of notes on the account, and then fill out the nitorious spreadsheet that goes to the dept. that deals with VB
