Who is the best CS person to ask for when we call? I know someone had a ranked list posted, That would be a good start for real help.

i would like think me, but the best thing to ask is (by making small talk) how long that they(the CSR) has been with the warranty dept. it is clear that many people wait way to long on hold so we have hired about 110 new reps which means your call is answered much quicker but that CSR might not be as broke in as the rest of us.

I got my s50 replacement on Friday. My car dock was broken (knob on the front is loose) but my s50 itself is fine. I am going to pull the cap off of the FM plug and put in the new car dock. I'll try it with the old s50 and then try the new s50. I'll keep the combo that works best.

My s50 replacement is fantastic. I can't be happier. It works better out of the box than my old one did after applying all of the updates. I can even stop a recording midstream and save a partial file. My car dock was broken and I wasn't thrilled about the new one with the FM plug. Silly me! Once the plug is out it works as well if not better than my original. If you look closely, the FM plug even has a flat side on it that helps you remove it by offering a handy spot to insert a small tool to pry it out. I think it's funny that the s50 has the plug installed but you still get the FM antenna cable in the box. There is a fun new brochure installed that tells you not to remove the plug unless a professional installs a direct antenna feed box. Probably not a bad idea but not necessary once you pull the plug out.

I'm thrilled. Everything works fine and I have a new radio that is working better than my old one. I'll send back the broken unit tomorrow. I did take photos of everything as it went back into the box to prove that I am returning everything. I took the new parts that I needed above and beyond the s50 and the car dock and left the rest. The only odd thing I did notice is that the knob on the new car dock is slightly off kilter. When it is in the "up dog" position, he's tilted a little to the left. I'm anal so it bugs me but not that much. At least the knob works again. I got really used to using the remote in the car.
