Angry S50 - Getting the Warranty Runaround

4 months and counting without a replacement.

That is what I have been enduring for the last 4 months 11 days. I called in on July 1st to set up a request for replacement through my warranty for my S50 receiver. Since then I have had nothing but empty promises and stuffed up customer service with a smile :-)

I have called 5 times since July 1st and each time I request to have a replacement unit sent to me under the 1 year warranty which came with my S50 unit. Each time I call I am told that they will be sending out my unit within 7 to 10 business days via UPS. Everytime I call to get an update on that delivery, they tell me that a delivery of a replacement was not issued and that I would be put on a list to expedite the radio. It never gets sent out!

Am I in the wrong to say that I am getting the runaround? Is my interpretation of the situation worng when I say that I am getting lied to every time I call and they say that the unit will be sent out in 7 to 10 business days? Would you consider this a lie as well?

I would not be angry if it were not the fac that I am being told that I would get the unit in 7 to 10 business days. If they were to just tell me that they did not have any units in and that it would take another year to get it, I would not be here right now. I would still be angry that it is taking 4+ months to get my replacement, but at least I am getting the respect of getting the truth.

I am writing not to vent or post damaging propaganda about Sirius. I am angry and I want something done about the lies and misrepresentation.

I have been counseled by a legal counselor that if I am going to get anything done, I need to get bigger. In simpler terms, I need more clout that if I were to do independently. I need the help of others who are having the same problem. My voice needs to be amplified by others with the same problem.

I need your help and in the process I will be helping you. I need to hear back from others who have been waiting for their replacements for at least 30 days. I need to get about 50 unsatisfied Sirius customers who want to get a replacement for their $300 paperweight to e-mail me and let me know that I am not alone. I want vindication in knowing that this is not just a simple misrepresentation of a select few, but dozens of Sirius consumers who are waiting for what is legally theirs, and in a timely manner.

I will be gathering names of people who have been waiting for at least 30 days who need to get their replacement and using this to present a possible class action suit against Sirius for flagrant use of misinformation to postpone of warranty replacemnt of Sirius merchandise. I would like to get at least 50 people before proceeding to legal actions. If I can succeed in doing this, there is an excellent chance of acquiring legal counsel to take acion on this nationally, and without any out of pocket investment. This can only be done if I have eough people to do this.

If you would like to participate in taking legal actions against Sirius as a class action suit agains Sirius to get your replacement as well as monetary reinbursement, please contact me at iggydesign@hotmail.com.

You can also further this plan by addressing this issue on other sites devoted to the S50 and its problems and using my contact information.

Together we can make a difference where we could not independently. I think that it is time to stop making the useless calls with hold times of 30 minutes or more and take action which will make Sirius notice. Please, e-mail me if you feel that you are not getting anywhere with Sirius.

I have been waiting for my S50 replacement since April 2006. This customer service is the worst! Please email me with whatever information you need. Thanks for doing this.

I just emailed you my info. Sirius has been F**K me since July and I would like to get them back. I wish I had a $1 for everytime they told me I should be receiving my S50 replacement in 7 - 10 days I could afford to buy a Stiletto 100.

Default Warranty Issues Update

I have had considerable response from others who have read this an other posts in other forums and found that my e-mail address is becoming overrun with responses. There are two ways to get on the list. The preferable way would be to get on MySpace.com enter your information. If we do it this way, others will see just how many people are becoming a part of our group who will be taking active part in getting back their equipment. The second way will be to continue to send your information to my e-mail address which is still iggydesign@hotmail.com. If you set up an account on MySpace.com, you will get quicker responses and better updates on the prograss of the group. Everyone has their preferences and need to be respected so I am happy to provide both options. You can find the MySpace.com site at: http://www.myspace.com/129126541. My Blog for updates will be http://blog.myspace.com/129126541. I just set up the site and it will be running full force in about 10 days. Till then, please submit a request to be added to the friends page and in your MySpace page, enter a blog with your details of your problems you have been having with Sirius. I will be keeping track of new friends and will update the list on a daily basis, at least twice a day. I hope this will help others to get back their equipment. I am not looking for anything else, but to get back my own equipment and I think that we can all play an important part in finding a solution together in strength of a group, instead of as individuals.

I am writing this on behalf of all those who are still waiting for their Sirius satellite equipment which you have submitted tickets for with the Sirius Warranty Center. If you have been waiting for longer than 2 weeks and feel that you are not getting your replacement in a timely manner, you have the right to speak out. It is not fair to be expected to wait for months on end for replacement equipment which will never arrive. It is not fair to be put on hold for 30+ minutes every time you call to get empty results from customer service which is less than deserving of your time. It is not fair that you are the one who is left empty, holding an investment of hundreds of dollars in your hand – little more than just a paperweight on your desk.

Why do you think you need to wait any longer to get what you deserve?

Is there a way to get back your receiver from Sirius? Most definitely. Are you going to get it in a timely manner? I don’t think so, although you hear of those who get theirs within two weeks after calling. Those who claim they do I think are not telling all that is truthful and if they say other wise, ask for proof. Where is there tracking number for the equipment they sent? Where did they go which was different than the route you took? Find out these things and you will know the truth.

Those who are tired of waiting need to work together and find solutions as a group where you could not independently. Sirius is a huge company and we need to be fighting this at a level which is comparable. We need to become bigger by joining in cooperation and combining efforts to get to the same outcome: getting back our equipment in working order.

If you are interested in finding solutions in places where you found only frustration, join our efforts and add your voice to the many who are willing to fight the monster we call injustice and show a large company like Sirius that customer service is EVERYTHING!

You will be able to see a progressive growth of the group and know that our cause is one which is getting stronger and stronger. You will be able to get updates through this site of events which will be taking place to make our complaints known including filing to the Better Business Bureau in force, Filing complaint to your state, and national business reviews. You can find information on who to call, where to go to get someone to listen to you.

Join our cause to get back your equipment and show Sirius that you are not alone in your anger and frustration in the way they have treated you.
