Default Best Buy Rocks

I exchanged my Piece of shit S50 for a stiletto yesterday. (it has a "no signal" error going on) I didn't have the Best Buy replacement plan either. They just did it based on the manufacturer's warranty. I bought a car dock too, which had a special of a free direct FM connector with it. So now I'm a happy man.

Goodbye S50, you piece of total crap.

Default more details please?

Do you have to have a problem with your s50 to do the exchange? My s50 hasn't given too many problems, but I'd like to get a Stiletto with having to pay $350 plus. What was the price difference?

Well mine *did* have a problem, but it's not like they checked it out before taking it back. The stiletto was the same price as my S50, although it doesn't come with a car dock.

I would say that having `not too many problems' definitely qualifies you for a guilt free exchange!

(and - besides - I was told by one BB manager that if it isn't broken, they can break it for you. Talk about customer oriented.)

Default I am giving it a go at Best Buy right now ...

Hey Fellas:

I am trying to exchange my s50 for a Stilletto right now. All signs look great. I will let everyone now how it turns out once I wrap up the deal. There are a couple of pointers that I will share in a few.

Well...either he didnt get a new one or he was hauled off for trying to scam Best Buy lol. Id like to know how it went. Id love to exchange my S50 for a Stiletto. When I bought mine at BB they didn't even offer me the replacement warranty. Im pretty sure its still under manufacturers warranty..but it runs out in January. So let us know Tom how it went.

Default Success!!!

Hey Everyone:

I am now the proud owner of a Stilletto. Amen, my problems with the s50 are fading off into a distant memory.

Here is what you need for everything to be a success.

1) Make sure you are doing everything within the warranty window if you do not have a service plan. You need to let the Best Buy folks know that you have worked with the Sirius customer service team to resolve the issues and are getting nowhere.

2) If you have a service plan, the key to keep in mind is that you have replaced the unit or sent it to Sirius for repair 3 or 4 times. The number is dependent upon the lemon laws in your state. But, the extended warranty plan states Best Buy will replace the unit after you have repaired the unit 4 times. In my case, I tried 5 times. Seriously ... no lie.

The tips above should help everyone greatly. I wish everyone success.

Default One Last Thing ... Power.

Hi Everyone:

I forget, the s50 and Stiletto use different power connector pins. As a result, you will not be able to just swap the wiring between units. That was the only drag with my install. I had to open up everything and do a bit of rewiring but only to get power to the unit.

did you actually have to buy your s50 from BestBuy in the first place and have a BB receipt, or would they do the exchange for any s50?

I hope the title is self-explanatory. You need to have purchased the s50 from Best Buy in the first place in order for the exchange to work.

How much of the S50 did you return. Was it the car dock too. Box all the parts including the antenna?

Default Need box?

Hey Rubin if they won't return without the box I have a spare box, its your if you want it as long as you pay the shipping. My first S50 was stolen but I still have the box. I plan to return my dead S50 to CC today apparently they will swap it for a Stiletto under the original Warrenty.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. My S50 really is working well. I just got a new home dock under warranty and If I do return it for a stiletto what am I going to do with my two home docks. Maybe if it actually breaks I might take you up on it.
