Wink If XM were smart

They would offer all of us pissed S50 owners free replacements with thier version of the S50 and make a big PR event of it. Just a thought

Your thought is lame.

Does XM have a device with all S50 features?

It hardly matters if XM doesn't have the programming (Stern/Nascar/NFL) that so many millions signed up with Sirius for in the first place.

I suppose that would be a decision that listeners would have to make. My question was if XM had a comparable device. Your answer was SIRI religious babble. For XM to put such an offer out on the internet would cost nothing, and it may woo a subscriber or two if people are really as angry about SIRI customer service as they appear to be. If XM had the same customer service troubles (maybe they do - I don't have XM so I don't know) then I would think for SIRI to do this may not be a bad idea.

Actually the thought was quite good. It would not hurt XM to do something like that, which may bring over a few subscribers. Your post was lame and added nothing to the conversation.

Ad campaigns usually target large groups not a small niche...

Here's how I would do it if I were XM. The pitch would be, send us your:

S50 (or any SIRI radio for that matter)
plus
a check (or credit card) for $XXX (the amount would be for one year's subscription plus a discounted amount for a certain XM radio - however much that would add up to)
plus
a statement of the remaining time on your SIRI subscription

And you would get the radio, credit for your remaining subscription time, and one year XM subscription (so you would get 1 year + whatever was left on your SIRI account). And you would get it in under 2 weeks.

XM wouldn't make big dollars on it, but they would attract a few subscribers and really piss off SIRI. If nothing else it would help publicize the fact that SIRI has bad customer service. It may goad SIRI into improving customer service. The advertising cost to XM would be practically zero. They could just put it on their web site. It would circulate quickly among the unhappy on this site for sure.
