Default Replacement s50 has issues

I received my new s50 late yesterday and have discovered a couple noteworthy items:

1) new car dock/fm transmitter can't transmit to a radio 4 inches away. When I called to re-activate my service, I immediately noticed that the station I always used in the past (90.3) was all static. I tried several others up and down the dial, all with the same result. I did this while on the line with Sirius. Of course, the rep at Sirius kept telling me that I had connected it wrong, or the stations must have changed, etc. I asked for a supervisor and he said the problem was because he couldn't access a list of appropriate FM frequencies in my area (suburban Detroit) and that I should call back this morning. Instead, I substituted my old car dock from my dead s50 and, voila, problem solved. So, I believe I will be returning the new dock when I ship my old portable part, etc. back to Sirius.

2) There are no more My Sirius Channels. It is not in the directory when I go to playlists and those chunks of programming from the music channels no longer record. I guess this will keep people from being able to "love" all those songs. I lost 230 songs that I had "loved" during the 10 months before my unit died in October and it seems that those will never be able to be replaced. There's no way to sit there and actually listen to all the channels and catch the songs that happen to be palying.

Is anyone else having these issues?

Can I keep my old dock without penalty from Sirius?

Okay--

I was wrong. The channels (one of them, at least) has started recording. I'm sorry about that and I'm so relieved.

Yes, as long as you send back the new dock. That's what I was told when I asked .

Someone posted on another thread that SIRI pushed some kind of plastic cap into the FM out, and that is killing the transmission. I suppose that puts it within FCC guidelines. The same poster said you can carefully pull the cap out and the transmission improves. Just something you might try while deciding which car dock to return. If it doesn't work for you, return the new car dock.

Also, mom4allboys, it doesn't matter how close the car dock is to the radio. What matters is how close it is to the antenna, which may be on the back of your car.

Sent my replacement back for a replacement, the same day I received on Tuesday 11/21. Had been waiting since May for a unit. Hopefully I will get a working unit. I couldnt deal with customer service putting me on hold and disconnecting me when they would try and transfer me to a manager, so I ended up canceling my account, maybe after the intial feeling of being taken advantage of goes away I will reconsider. But I think it is really poor to send out replacments for your customer on a radio that hasent worked correctly since day one and then have them foot the bill to return the defective radio, only to have to foot the bill again to return the replacment as well.

Cost of my wonderful SIRIUS experience
S50 $300
Home Dock $100
Antenna to make Home dock work $50
2nd car dock kit $100
Return S50 $12.50
Return replacement S50 $12.50
Total $575.00
Count less hours of my life wasted on hold with customer service/warranty/tech support = priceless
I love the content that Sirius provides, but it really shouldnt be this complicated to get a working radio.....should it?
