Default FM transmitter for home dock.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a FM transmitter that works well with the S50 home dock?

This one from Belkin looks as if it may work well!

I just figured that if I plug this into the "line out" on the home dock, it should work just fine.

If you choose to go with this transmitter get a power adapter for it.

Second if you get this one there is an eazy mod you should do to it.
basically adds a longer antenna wire to increase the range.

Personally I would get a Ramsey FM transmitter a little bit more money
but, the FM25B will cover your entire house. Up to 1/8 of a MILE.

And if you want to get fancy the FM100 is awsome.

I bought that one and it's not even close to the car dock transmitter. I have to put it directly on the fm radio for it to work. It does use up batteries very fast.
I would like to find a good one or try to pickup a used car dock on ebay

If you can do this MOD it will increase the range of the Tunecast 2.
But, you need to know how to solder. I also recomend not using batteries to power it. use the 3vdc jack with a power adapter from Radio Shack.

Default FM Transmitter

Agree with electrostatictom, I purchased the Whole House FM transmitter and have been using it for about 6 months and it works great. I have it in my basement and it sends a good signal throughout my whole house. I had tried the C. Crane and even the unpublished way to increase its signal but it wasn't close to the reception. The wholehouse is a great product.

I use the Belkin mentioned in the original post on my Sportster 4 because of the weak internal transmitter and if I plug in the FM Transmitter by using the power cord from my old Sportster, it works for most of my two story house if I put the radio in certain areas. But if you have to use the battery power with the Belkin, you can forget about it.

I just bought a Radio shack AC adapter for $17 . What a difference it makes, it transmits all over the house and outside as well. Cant wait to see it work with the mod, thats my next project.
