Default Sirius S50 Rebates . . . ANY hope of actually getting it?

Ok, bought my S50, car kit, home kit, and Executive docking station about 5 or 6 months ago. Filled out all the forms, cut out the UPC/SSN stuff and mailed it in. After 10 weeks, I get a postcard in the mail saying that the UPC/SSN wasn't included. WTF?!? So, I send in all my photocopies. No response. Send an email, get an automated response. Send another letter. Make a phone call. No love. So, right now I'm out $120 because some poor schmuck making minimum wage lost my UPC/SSN? On top of that Sirius won't do the right thing and give me my $120? Ridiculous.

Every time I look at my Sirius S50, wanna' know the first thought that comes to mind? "Those f*ckers stole $120 from me!" Gonna' get another one? Uh, no. As someone who liked Sirius enough to outfit my home, apt. and wife's car with lifetime subscriptions, after this debacle, there's no way I'd consider it.

Is my experience unique? Or have others experienced similar issues?

Sirius: If you're listening . . . . your customer service is already legendarily poor, now you've resorted to stiffing people on their rebates?

I bought my S50 from Best Buy in June 06. I sent in all the required infomation that Sirius requested for the rebate. I had forgot about it until October. I called Sirius and they said I would receive it in a couple of weeks, but the rep sounded like it had been lost in the paperwork. However I did receive it like she said. Roughly 6 months from the time I bought the unit.

I believe on the rebate form that I got with my receipt, it said 60-days of service required. My guess is, their 60-days starts once they receive and process (key word) all the necessary paper work from you on the rebate. So I tend to think, you mail it in, they process it in a few weeks, they start the 60-day period, then once all requirements are met, they start to process the rebate and that's when the standard 6-8 weeks phase begins.

I had a rebate with them on my first radio a year ago. The radio broke within the first week and I replaced it with the same radio. You know, that first rebate form I had did not request that I mail in the original ESN (I kept a copy of my rebate form) from the box and therefore, I did not include the ESN. That rebate was denied because apparently that was required, but nobody told me. lol

I obtained another rebate form and mailed in the ESN of the new radio and that one was approved.

I just checked my records. I bought the radio in 3/17/05 and I received the rebate 9/19/05. So 6 months in my case.

I just bought an S50 and I figure I'll be waiting 6 months for that $100 rebate to get in my hands. Rebates...gotta love'em.

Slightly over two months for my rebate. I sent it in July 20 and a check was mailed to me the last week in September.

It took about 4 months to get my $50 from them after I bought my S50 last year. Be patient..you'll get it.....eventually!

My rebate was rejected for the same UPC reason which was bullshit. I didn't ever get around to challenging it, so they beat me out of my money.

Fuckers.

I mailed a resubmit of my esn/sid barcode on Oct 19. (I really think I sent everything in correctly back in June). I just checked my rebate status on the web site and it's . . . p..r..o..c..e..s..s..i..n..g....

Santa will be here before my rebate.

grrrrrrr!
