How did you get the home kit bundled and get the instant rebate? I only saw that bundle as a mail-in rebate...I logged in to my Sirius account, clicked "free radio" and it had three packages, one of which was the S50 with car kit...

It was one of the choices out of about 5. I chose the one with both home and car kits. I took it all the way to the shopping cart and it took the instant rebate after it totaled everything . In other words go thru the order process and make sure it deducts the instant rebate BEFORE you submit the final order. IMPORTANT !!!! I also used the BUFFETT code where it says DISCOUNT code.

Ok, my price comes to $69.61 as below. I'm trying to figure out if I can also submit for the rebate essentially making money on the deal. I haven't seen anything that makes me think it would be denied , but wanted to see if anyone knew anything to the contrary.

I bought one a couple days ago, just couldn't resist. I had considered getting a Stiletto, but the only thing I really want is more storage space. At $79.99 I couldn't pass that up.... I was actually just looking for a spare car dock so I could have one in all my cars... and I figured spent $30 more and get another S50... can't go wrong with that. Now I can record two programs that are on at the same time... that rocks.

When I ordered mine, once I clicked on the S50, it gave me the option of ordering a home dock or an executive dock with it, and had discounted prices on them as well.

I tried to read the fine print, but if you go THAT route (free sirius banner ad) do I have to then activate a NEW line of service or can I use this radio to replace one of my current radios and add it to that sub?

Yeah, looks like that's tied to adding an add'l 6 month sub...which works for me but complicates things if you're looking just do a tuner swap. Figured at about $50 bucks and no rebate hassles it's worth the extra 6 month sub just to try out the s50.

I ordered over the phone and asked if I could get it for $80 and switch over from my sportster 4. Gave some story about my new car and the Sportster 4 not fitting well and this would work better. He said that wouldn't be a problem. I received it 4 days later, called up and deactivated my Sportster and activated the S50 with no issues.

Aargh!

I ordered an S50 on the 13th and used the BUFFETT code and did the 2nd-Day Air. Hadn't heard anything after the order conf. The online status just says "Checked Out" whatever that means... I meant to call shop.sirius.com but called sirius.com's line by mistake. She checked into my acct then I told her I called the wrong place and she gave me the other number. I hang up and look at my gmail acct and there is suddenly an email telling me the tracking number. What timing, considering it was after 9PM PST. As if that's not bad enough, it was allegedly shipped in the 18th and then "rescheduled" and they project it will get here on the 21st. Maybe I just don't understand WTF "2nd-Day" means but if I hadn't bumped it up, it would have never gotten here by xMas, assuming it will now...

Sorry, just needed to vent that...

I understand your pain! I've been trying to get a status on mine as well. I order 2 more on the 14th and I've called several times. Once I was even told that it shipped, but when I called back for a tracking number the next person said it hadn't yet.
On a side note: Did they bill your 6 month subscription cost? In going back and looking it says that they reserve the right to bill that upon shipment...

I thought that it said "if you didn't activate it by a certain date, that they would"...

I received mine late last week, and I didn't get billed for a 6 mo. subscription, not was there anything in the box mentioning it. I just called Sirius and had them add it as my second radio @6.99 per month...I didn't pay for 6 mos. up front, and the lady did not mention anything, even after I told her about the promotion on the radio...

I think they reserve the right to bill up front, maybe they do that when someone is a new subscriber or hasn't been signed up very long...

Ok, I just wanted to see because to get the cost a little lower on my S50's, I ordered a $50 subscription card. it only cut off a few bucks (down to $48 each), but then I saw this and actually read it on the free radio page. See #4 and 5. I just wanted to see what other experiences were.
I wanted to make sure I didn't have to go through the hassle of having them cancle the 6 month charge and using the using the subscription card.
I also thought it was crap that they could start the subscription prior to me even receiving the radio.
