Default Is Anyone Happy

With all the negative post, is anyone happy with their purchase?
Interested in the S50 but don't want to make a mistake.

I love my S50. I've had it since December 26th of '05. Since the latest update, I have not had any problems. I use it A LOT too. I've listened to EVERY SINGLE HOUR of the Stern show on it portably since 1-9-06.

Just this week I did noticed a slight short in the headphones. Not a problem though and expected for the amount of use.

I am on my 3rd S50, and my last one died for a day....with new companies, and products there will always be a few bumps in the road...so I purchased the extra years of warranty from Bestbuy. This S50 is the best purchase I have ever made...I love it!!

Default Very Satisfied

I purchased one at Best Buy for $179 w/ $100 rebate. Also bought the 4 year extended warrenty. So far, so good! I upgraded it to the current firmware even before I activated it. I also read the instructions very carefully. I "love" songs but will not use it to save MP3 files. I am hoping this will keep me relatively problem free. It stays in my car all of the time with few exceptions. I rarely ever turn it off. I have recorded Dave Ramsey's show almost every night and it has worked perfectly. I would suggest recording a long program in several 1 hour segments since the S50 doesn't save your spot if you leave playback mode. Makes it a lot easier to find the spot where you left off. I am 50 years old, and not a big Howard fan, but I love the music content and many of the talk shows as well. The sports programing is great too. I highly reccommend this radio! Especially for $79!!!

I love my S50. I had it since 12/25/05 and I'm thinking on jumping on the $79.99 deal

Thumbs up Very much so...

I've said this several times, but I'll gladly keep defending it: yes! I love my S50 and even though I've recently purchased a Stiletto 100 I'll continue to use it.

just bought my wife one for xMas so I must either have a little faith or be willing to get kicked twice... Despite the replacement of my 1st unit, the 2nd has performed very well {knocking on wood}

I've also figured out a way to reconcile in my head the low price for the second one compared to the top dollar I paid for the first. I just add the price together and divide by 2. Makes it a little more palatable...

When it works it's an awesome product! My replacement has worked great. I was thinking of trading it in on a Stilleto, but the Stilleto won't let you save a song from the buffer or my channels so I decided to keep the S50.

Agree, when it's working properly, it's awesome. The only thing keeping me from getting the Stilleto besides the $$ is the fact you can't save songs from the buffer. I love putting the S50 an a channel and letting it go for 3-4 hours and then "loving" the songs I want and deleting the ones I do not. It's a great feature. Long live S50!! And at $79-89 after rebates, it's a heck of a deal.

Default Love it!

A friend got an S50 this summer and loved it. I was jealous so my wife bought me one for my birthday. It's been great and I've had no trouble. But now my wife's jealous so I bought her one for Christmas. (Don't tell her!)

It's easy to record live music. It's (fairly) painless to load your own mp3's. The interface isn't perfect, but the S50's portability and depth of content overshadow its shortcomings.

Take the deal. Get the rebate. I think it's worth it.

I use my S50 every day, and have had only minor problems. Since the last firmware update, it has been immaculate. If they would put bookmarking on this device, it would be a great addition, though. Keep in mind if you are a AAA member, you can get 20% off by going through their website to sirius.com. Also, entering BUFFETT in the discount code, I was able to get a second s50 for my wife for $33 after the $100 rebate is cashed in. Oh, and the S50 not having a live on-the-go antenna isn't a dealbreaker, in my opinion.

Love mine as well. Not much else to add to this discussion, but I am very happy with mine. I am leery of the reception of a Stiletto, so I have no plans of upgrading in the foreseeable future.

i don't 'love' mine. it mostly does the job, it just happens to have one of the worst interfaces i've ever seen.
