Default Still waiting for S50 Warranty replacement?!?!

Hey, if you're still waiting for a replacement unit, call the warranty group - NOW!!! 1-866-257-7726

If you've been waiting a LOOOOOONG time, like I have (since August), and haven't received a replacement - CALL THEM.

It seems their incompetence knows no bounds. They've got replacement units, and they've got open warranty claims, and they're not notifying people properly to contact them to make advanced replacement arrangements.

So, if you've been waiting patiently, stop doing it and CALL THEM.

Mine is finally on the way (we'll see) but only because I called and spoke to them. I had an open claim, and I hadn't heard from them in two months. They didn't notify me or anything about units being available.

I thought the same thing over two weeks ago, now I'm starting to wonder if they're yankin my chain again. Called them, they said oh yeah, we have replacements. Gimme your credit card for an advanced exchange. Still waiting.

I have been without my S50 due to problems since July. After calling every three weeks, I finally began to call them every other day starting last week. On one of the calls, the Operator told me that he faxed something to the Warehouse to get a "priority rush" on it. Well, today I called and was given the tracking number. I verified it to UPS while talking to the Operator and it's confirmed. Wohoo!

My next call will be to Billing to get credit for all those months of No Service!

I also learned my lesson. I'll buy the extended warranty on my next purchase from BB or Radio Shack!

Crap...So last Monday, 12/4 (late afternoon), gave them my credit card number, and they said 5-7 days. It's Wed (12/13), still no replacement...getting nervous.

My replacement s50 arrived yesterday. It took a couple of days longer than they said, but they did deliver this time.

I actually got an email from Sirius today. Basically, they were trying to tell me that they could finally ship me a replacement S50. The email was sent against my original claim number. However, because I did an advance replacement on Monday with credit card, I now have a new claim number. Anyway, the S50's seem to be available everywhere at the moment, so I have no real reason to believe they aren't actually sending me one... {fingers crossed}

Oh, one other thing, the email also said:

And if you return your radio to us within the next 2 weeks you'll receive a free prepaid InstallCard! This card
will cover the cost of having your SIRIUS radio professionally installed.


Has anyone taken advantage of this offer?

They sent me a bunch of free stuff in the box including the Install Card, FM Direct Adapter, Tape Adapter and some extra cables for a professional install. They also added another free month on top of the months I was out of Service. Customer Service on the front end sucks, but I was pleasantly surprised with the extra stuff including free professional installation when the delivery came in.

Atleast they are shipping now. My replacement crapped out last Sat., just haven't made a claim yet, guess I'll do it today. I hate this whole process. Ugh....

I had given up hope, but I finally got my replacement, it looks new and it came with alot of extras.
I bought a Starmate while I've been waiting.
I activated the s-50 @ 6.99/mo and was given 7 months free service for lost service.
I don't blame Sirius for the delay, but I do give the FCC a big FU because of the FM transmitter issues.

I'll be using the starmate in the vehicles and I'll be treating my s-50 like a rare piece of china, keeping it out of the sun, and only using it to record my shows, music, and mp3

I received mine about 3 weeks ago after about a 1 month wait. Mine crapped out in early November.

Anyway, knock on wood, the replacement seems to be working just fine.

Lets hope it stays that way.

Just called them. They screwed me. Over a week later and it hasn't shipped. It appears they are incapable of taking care of their customers. In the interim they've sent me both an email and phone message telling me to return my S50. This after I set up the advance replacement. Can service get any worse than this?!?!

My unit finally showed up the other day and appears to be brand new. I also got the cassette kit, the FM antenna interface kit, and the professional installation gift card.

The new unit appears to be working fine, and is also working properly with both my car kit and home kit. The unit I'm returning never seemed to work properly going between the two locations. Hopefully this unit holds up (fingers crossed again)...

Question Back Again...

Hey All,-- Glad to see this place!... thought it had disappeared there for awhile, did it???

Anyway I see I'm not alone... I also got my replacement last week (with all the extras)... I wasn't able to use the install card at Best Buy which pissed me off... but I decided to get a new PIONEER head-unit, front speakers & have them (BB) install the s50 and everything all at once all together. Had no idea professional installation was so expensive. (Labor for each individual peice of equipment plus additional parts/kits) Holy Sh*/t !!!

So far, so good... I'm too scared to see if the thing needs any of the updates.

What versions have you guys been receiving? ... and what are the latest updates, are they worth doing?
