Question Soon to be new S50 owner advice needed.

First off this is my first post so hello to everyone. Been looking over this site for the past few days and decided this is the place for me.

I asked my wife for an S50 for Christmas after my work took away my streaming abilities (I work graveyard, need to kill some time). I got a peek at one of my presents that she poorly wrapped and it was a Sirius box and since we cant afford S100 and with the deal they had a few weeks ago I am 99% sure its an S50 in there. So onto my few questions.

I read here that its a good idea to spend the 20 bucks for the Best Buy extended warrenty. I am not sure that she got it when she purchased it. Will Best Buy let me purchase one on it after the sale and if so do I have to keep everything unopened to purchase it? I emailed Best Buy but so far no response.

How much will the much charges turn out to be when I transfer from my current receiver to the S50?

Once installed is the Car Dock removable? I live in a crappy area and dont want it ripped off. I was also thinking of skipping the Home Dock and this will be a big help if I can.

Is the Home Dock worth it?

FM reception with Sirius is horrible since I live in So Cal so I will for sure be hooking it up to the head unit. Any other advice or suggestions on accessories would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

If Best Buy won't let you buy the warranty now, I would return it for a refund and just buy a new one with the warranty- it's VERY, VERY worth it and I wouldn't buy an S50 without one.

I've transfered numerous radios on my account and they haven't charged me anything to just swap out a receiver.

No, the car dock isn't easily removable once it's installed. To get around that, here's what I did:

That allowed me to take it in the house, in the car, to work, ect.

It works especially well if you travel. I've taken it with me in many rental cars. Nothing like Sirius if you have to drive across the country.

As far as the Best Buy warranty, I had my s50 for three days and it bricked. I returned it and they still let me buy the extended warranty at that time.

Is the home dock worth it? It depends on how you plan on using the s50. Are you going to listen to recorded content at work? If so, I would get a home dock so you can record programming at home, then listen to it at work.

The battery charges when the unit is docked... is that what you're asking?

No removing the auto dock is just a matter of not wanting it stolen. A buddy of mine has had two ripped out of his truck one with the media player unit and one just the auto cradle was taken. Also if I could do this I could just take the whole thing in to work with me and use an ac to dc adapter or something for power right?

Yes, you could certainly do that. Just not actually mount the car kit in your car, then take it with you when you're at work. You would need to buy an adapter to plug it into an outlet, and get an extra antenna, and you would have all the functions of a home kit as well.

Just do the little kit I linked. You can get an AC adapter at Radio Shack for like $6.
