Default Backing Up the S50

Is there a way to back up the songs saved in case you do a reset?

Default No

No. Files are encrypted.

The only way to back up is to come out the headphone jack into another device, which is essentially an analog-to-analog backup. Ick.

I believe that it creates a new encryption key or something of that nature on reset and the old songs won't play. At least with the 3-finger reset..

"Playing" your songs into your computer and re-recording as MP3 is the best way. You can then save or burn to CD.

Once you have done that you are free to move it back on your s50.

If there are songs or radio shows you want to keep I suggest you do that sooner than later, It is a well known problem that the S50 "Forgets" its encryption key and eventually forgets how to replay all your saved content. You basically start over.

You will still need to assign the song info,(song name, artist, ect...) correct?

Correct, you would need some tag editing software to do this.

If all the threads about the terrible repetition on Sirius are true, it may be quicker to just Love them again.
